The nav made the NISMO slower. By default it beats the Lotus and STi.

Top Gear test track time for 370z

Hey check out the top gear test track times for the 370Z 127.5 it's faster than a lot of cars out there.

BBC Two - Top Gear - Power Laps

kenchan 07-15-2012 07:55 PM

is it faster than a prius?

blackcherry20 07-16-2012 12:39 AM

Only if the prius driver is preoccupied with large water fowl;):roflpuke2:

The Ariel Atom V8 tops the list. Jay Leno must have one of them. He has the slower version of the Ariel.:driving:

While these laps make great TV they really don't tell us much. No indication of track conditions and worse yet no indication of tire used. That circuit is highly tire dependent. Run a crappy street tire and you'd be off pace a few seconds.

Tires are stock they note wet, moist or nothing for dry. I know the 370z could get around the track much faster with a set of racing tires or R spec compound like I have now, but they test stock if it is not stock it does not go on the board.

These are back to back laps tested by a professional race driver world champion the Stig!

They are spot on with testing the capabilities of the cars and not just straight line performance. With the exception of Chysler, Jeep or Dodge TopGear detests them!

If you have Xbox360 and Foza4 you can try the track out for yourself even the standing mile. Try to beat the stigs times stock for stock.

Obviously it's not going to be the same exact conditions for every test. Every circuit is tire dependent. Its my understanding that they use whatever tire they come with from the factory and must be street legal, hence why cars like the FXX isn't on the board. I don't think anyone is taking these results too seriously since there are so many variables with track conditions. They do give you a general idea of how good a car is though and it's generally good enough to guage overall performance. You could make the same comment about the track times on the Nurburgring or any track for that matter.

Why are most of the commets on this thread bashing the Z? There is alot of Z hating going on in this forum. Sad so sad.

I think its been getting better lately, especially since the haters have figured out that they can get what they need by purchasing a 5.0.

The new cool thing to bash is the manual transmission.

The track the BBC uses looks like and old flat airport or old airbase and simply puts puts a few orange cones and simple barriers. Its not really track with any kind of banking or turns designed for a sports car racings.

If you put the cars on an actual sports car or formula 1 track, I m sure the track times would be a lot different.

I am kind of disgusted how many people that posted in this thread have no idea what the top gear test track is or how it is ran.

I mean seriously, some of these people consider themselves car guys?
