I bought this Z car ( my first ) for what it is today. The reviews are outstanding, the performance numbers are fantastic, the styling is FUN.

I didn't much like the 350 or earlier models, matter of fact NEVER, ever consider a Japanese car at all, my first also.

If you wanted the selection or the wish list of items to build your car, then you should have stopped by the BMW dealership, they have a laundry list of add on's. You can drive up the price of your car till your heart is content.

I like this 370Z just as it sits......nothing more needed....well maybe some HFC's, but that's it.

355890...nicely put!

I wish the wheel wells were better insulated. I don't mind tire noise at all, but the sound of rocks and other debris getting kicked up into the car can be distracting.

I think Mbenz is actually worse than BMW. The C class was one of the car that I was looking into and I was surprised how gutted the base C class was opposed to the base 3 series.

haha.. a lot of these responses are so whiney.

- Blind spots.. ok I can see where the blind spots for lane changes is an issue AT FIRST. But after driving it for more than a week, it shouldn't be such a big deal anymore. Do like you're actually supposed to and turn your head while changing lanes. You do remember drivers ed right?

- Wheel well noise? You should have gotten the Volvo Mr. Mom.

- Rear windshield wiper? That's ALMOST as gay as having those little headlight wipers.

- The gas gauge. True it doesn't really jive with the styling of the rest of the dash but after awhile (like after 30 seconds of initial purchase or test drive) it really isn't an issue.

- The fuel door and lack of 'in-cabin' release mechanism. Oh c'mon.. frankly I'm surprised that you're not complaining about lack of a key for the ignition.

Complaints..? Yeah I've got complaints. I think ppl that wanted a Volvo shouldn't have purchased a Z!

^^

Agreed. In addition, I don't mind the fuel gauge at all and I'm quite surprised how much negative feedback it's receiving.

People just don't like change for the sake of change (even if it might be better). The fuel cage and water temp are fine by me. I like how the little info center auto switches over to range when you get low on fuel and flashes at you until you press the enter button.

Never went that low on fuel before :eekdance:

KillerBee370,

Life is a matter of one's perspective. I still drive around with people who see a yellow car, even an a exotic, and say, "Boy, he must have gotten a great deal on that one!" ;)

If I recall Pushing Tin resides in Oregon, which is not a self-serve gas State, he is probably tired of explaining how to open the fuel lid to the attendant versus simply having a means of popping it open where the attendant can see they it is open.

Although I would not have need for rear window wiper those who live in areas of inclement weather (and I can definitely see having one in Japan) value such a wiper. Northwest States have pissy rain, that is like a constant heavy dew; this type of rain coats a window versus shedding.

I was burning off the free tank of gas that the dealer put in my car. I had no idea what brand of gas or octane they used, I can only imagine that they used the cheapest stuff possible.

You've got about 40 miles of highway range left when it kicks over.

A coat of Rain-X might help with that. One treatment is usually good for a month or 2 depending on how much rain you get.

The problem with any coating is that if it gets dirty then if effectiveness is reduced. Beside, I rather Pushing Tin chime-in on his thoughts regarding his situation. I use Rain-X, although when it first came out it was stronger concentrate than it is today.

SoCal is exactly right. Here in Oregon we are too retarded to pump our own gas. So we have to hire people even more retarded to do it for us. In my other cars you either open the fuel door from the outside, or you pop it from inside. Now I have neither option which means I have to get out every time and show the gas clown how to open it.

As I already stated in another reply, the topic of this thread is (370Z complaints so far.) I did not start the thread but since somebody else is interested, or may be thinking about buying the car they want to know what people in the real world like/dislike about the car. I have owned more expensive cars than my Z and I had complaints about them too.

I wonder what a coat of car wax would do for the rear window? Idiotic question I know, but the idea just came to me.
