Nissan 370Z Design Studio and Exclusive Interview with the 370Z Designer
Well, two days ago, the designer of the 370Z sent me this video via pm. He is a regular on the forum. It's a GREAT video that explains some of the design ideas that were involved in making this fantastic car. Also, here's another thread that explains the sports package wheels design. Almost 1 year after my initial purchase, I am still able to turn heads and get positive feedback/:tup: from people around me. I don't think I have ever experienced anything like this with any of my previous cars. This cars design is so amazing, it's appreciated by all age groups and gender. So, I'd like to take this time to specially thank Mr. Randy Rodriguez for designing something so beautiful and classic.
Thank You. Here's the video. Click on the image below http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...andy-video.jpg |
Nice video, thanks for sharing

+1. Thanks Randy!

Great Video! Even though I had a 240Z, 280Z and a 300ZX...I will forever remember "my" first Nissan car: A 1976 Datsun B210. Ugh!! LOL! Loyal til the end, huh? :)

Thank you, Mr. Rodriguez, for designing my dream car. My only gripe is the fog light "butthole"...what's up with that?? LOL!

Thanks AK for sharing with the group -- of course us "Roadster" owners probably got a bigger kick out of it -- interesting tidbit on the "Shark influence"...I'll never look at the nose of my Z the same again...

I saw a short video somewhere on line giving a sort of a tour of the factory in Japan where the Z's are actually produced. It was also very interesting. |

I have to ask, you are giving back your Z so what are you replacing it with?
Do you still have your 240z? |
That Blue Z in the nissan design place is the blue I wanted to see the 370 have, whats up with that ? Future color ?

I think its cool as a brake light. I did some early sketches as if it was a race car and got inspired by a low single brake light like F-1 or Lemans race cars. theDreamer- I have to ask, you are giving back your Z so what are you replacing it with? Do you still have your 240z? I ll be getting another Z but my wife wants me to wait a little bit. Cube just came in for the wife and expecting another baby any day now. Just picked up another bike and will probably be riding mostly for a little while. Sold the 240 and my friend who bought has been tracking it I think every month and doing well. Needed it for a down on the house I recently bought. chuckd05- That Blue Z in the nissan design place is the blue I wanted to see the 370 have, whats up with that ? Future color ? I dont have much say in the color department but I'd love a metallic silver blue also. I wish the car was offered in a lot of other colors as well. Sscottfitz- I am however still pondering that "erotic & shark influence" thingee.... The 'erotic mechanism' concept came from the mothership in Japan which I thought was cool. Sometimes things get lost in translation and they end up sending us stuff like that. I think sports cars should be sinister and menacing but at the same time beautiful. Sharks are like that and think of the body side like its belly and the beltline like a sharks profile and the sharp detailing. Better I was looking at sharks for inspiration than a whale or a panda, right? |

That's awesome you did those interviews.
Interesting the first video uses footage from Need For Speed (Undercover i think?), which was designed and developed in Vancouver. Hope to see you at the next auto show! A buddy and I will likely have his GTR and my 40th anniversary 370Z (once it comes in) side by side in V formation at the Canada place convention centre. :) |
