Those personalized licenses are just unwanted attention.

i think the attention is wanted, actually

i'll be ordering mine as soon as i can get a 7dig.

My daughter wanted me to get ZOCR DAD

...but I'm a little fast on the streets and don't want a memorable license plate for an easy call in to the popo. Didn't want to spend the extra cash every year either.

JvKintheUSA 01-10-2010 09:02 AM

I have been thinking hard for a vanity plate and I came up with a few medications:
Viagra or Ziagra (car gets me hard - lol), or Cialis or Zialis
Zoloft (driving the Z makes me happy!)

Maybe a little attention, but not so much.

I've had mine "CCCZXT" for 18+ yrs with no hassles.

Personalized Plates

Mine read "VRRRRM"

Originally had it on my '09 Maxima, and then moved them to my Z. Get a ton of complements on it all the time.

My wife's Accord has my old vanity plate: LTL KID

GingaBreadMan 01-22-2010 09:51 AM

NY vanity plate will be rare starting this year. They will cost $250 every time you register. I have 2 vehicles with personalized plates. $500 to keep them isn't worth it to me. Another reason not to live in NY

Ouch! Here in Canada, my vanity plate was free. I only paid the registry fee (which was $22).

It's because my vanity plate is my Ham Radio license call-sign and they are free in Canada.

vipor 01-22-2010 10:04 AM

i think operators don't have to pay extra here either.

That's just plain robbery !!!

It only costs extra to make the plate. After that, it costs no more to the state than anyone else with a random tag.

F*@K1Ng ******** !

You goota read the WHOLE post. I said for Ham Radio vanity plates they're free. All across Canada. Now for regular vanity plates.... yes, they are expensive. But my first ones (that my wife has on her Accord) were a gift. So they are really inexpensive for me :bowrofl:  :icon17: :tiphat:

I don't think a personalized plate makes you any more likely to get a ticket than someone calling and saying, "a really fast -color/make/model- just blew by me on -road-" They'd still have to mobilize.

You can't get a ticket from hearsay, they gotta clock you

not true! It would be $62.50 every 2 years, not $250. Still a crime.
NY is a joke with these fees, helluva way to pay down debt:

So, if NE1 is still reading this thread...

I think "PLEAZED" might be good. Seems to fit for me, NEWay. Wife OK'd the purchase which pleased me. It has a "Z" in it, and I'm pleased with it. Finally, the last three letters are "ZED".

So, comments?

GingaBreadMan 02-01-2010 09:27 AM

It was $62.50, which I didn't mind paying. It's going to be $250 this year. I hope I'm wrong. If I am I will keep my plates.

Jessica 02-01-2010 04:08 PM

I'll tell you guys mine after I get it on there. Not that I think anyone else will want it, but you never know and I REALLY like it. Still waiting on the title to not be "Pending" at the DMV. Ugh, title clerks, ugh.

And if your variation of NISMO was taken, you could always just substitute a Z... NIZMO.
