destiny. my last car i put alot of love into was totaled bout 2months after i started wanting a new car. for yrs now i wanted a 350z. how things worked out, i feel like the car and i were ment to be. ive had the car 2wks now. i agree mighty bobo, to name your car shows how you feel. im sure some of them r playin around though. alot of the posts r same ppl.

JoeZ 05-01-2010 06:20 AM

Nice Horses. I really meant my name, I know many were jokes and funny ones at that. I really feel lucky that I was able to finally get the car I have wanted since the 300Z came out. I was 16 and in love. They were always a small dream to me and one day I walked in and could afford it. Yay drinkers who tipped me well enough to afford her.

I thought yours was actually pretty good lol. At least it means something to you.

If someone tries to spew out that they named their car Kanji because of the "elegance of the 370Z's design reminds me of the same I see in the methods the Japanese use to write kanji...the beautiful flowing designs and blahblahblahblah"

Maybe I should name mine, "DoucheZ". Because it seems I run into a lot of douches, and its a Z. Witty, amirite?

destinyZ 05-01-2010 04:09 PM

doucheZ has a nice ring to it...lol :tiphat: and i agree some wat, i didn't understand that very much. i actually just skipped through the explanation of the name. :wtf2:

Genius!!! You win in my book; it's both classy, references a film character, and the film title has meaning to the Z history!! BRAVO.

And no, I don't have a name yet.. :shakes head:

I'm thinking a wall would be easier ( as you would know this ) Since there are no floating coins to be found.

I went down a different road with my plates. Kinda wanted to stay under the Popo radar so I got

240-xxx for my 240Z
280-xxx for my 280ZX
370-xxx for my 370Z

I managed to get the xxx the same on the 240Z and 280ZX and pretty close on the 370Z and its $18 to change the plates - way cheaper than Vanity plates....

Naming things. H'mm. Seems to me I remember a Bob Hope clip from the Johnny Carson Show. He's talking to Jayne Mansfield, admiring her legs. She says, "I like them so well I give them each names" Bob says, "Oh yeah? What do you call 'em?" Jayne says, "Well I name the right one 'Christmas' and the left one 'Easter'"

Bob says... "Remind me sometime and I'll drop in between the holidays!"

--
Had a few cars that earned names. An early 1959 Mercedes we named "Hilda". A 1964 Volvo 1800 that became "Trundlewort" A 1963 Alfa Giulietta that became "Jewel". A 1984 Prelude that became "Maytag." A turbocharged 1994 Miata that became "Bandersnatch". A 1963 Porsche 356B coupe that we called "That piece of sh*t." A 1992 Audi S4 sedan that became "Big Red" or "Red Sled". A 2005 RX-8 that became "Hummmmm." A 2001 Mercedes 320SLK that became "Silkie" and a 2001 Audi TT 225 that we called "Ttroll." A 2001 Audi S4 Avant that we call "S'Avant"

So far the Z has not earned a name. It's the Zee. Maybe after we hit 10,000 miles something will come to us.

lol reminds me of a B.B. King story. I'm paraphrasing, but it had to do with a woman who got "BB" tattooed on her rump, one "B" on each cheek. B.B. looked at it and said, "That's nice. But who's Bob?"

I call my Z "Chiana" or "Pip" amongst my friends. I'm a nerd, and it's a Farscape reference. So sue me.

At work, I refer to the Z as "the Beast".

wolf370z 08-26-2010 11:39 PM

Zee (Z). Dorky but hey it is a Z.

SophiaZ 09-09-2010 08:54 PM

Did you pick weird names for your cars?

I'm just curious are to what names you've had for your cars ( not just the Z's)
I think mine are nerdy so I had to share haha

98 Neon (Purple)- Purple People Eater
03 Dodge Neon ( Black)- Jason C@sh
05 Dodge Neon SRT Edition ( Burnt Orange) -Jason C@sh 2
04 Nissan 350Z ( Pearl White) - Zekiel.
09 Nissan 370Z ( Mag Black) - Zeus

Sorry if you think this is boring ( or maybe a re-thread) but I'm currently bored....the Saints vs Vikings game is boring the crap outta me  Thought it'd be much better than this!

6spd 09-09-2010 08:57 PM

ive never named a car before

Red__Zed 09-09-2010 09:08 PM

I never really got into the habit of naming my cars either...

SophiaZ 09-09-2010 09:09 PM

^ guess you're a rare one. Just like people calling their car a "she", it's just something people do.

shadoquad 09-09-2010 09:09 PM

First car I named is my Z, and yes, it's weird. I named it Chiana.

haha..I'm sticking with Nissan ;) I did love my Neon's tho..they weren't very fast, obviously, but I had the best neon's in the state ( with bragging rights :rofl2:) BUT..after my 3rd Neon...a year or so later..I seen a gorgeous white coupe at a used Pontiac dealership....I seen it at night and was like " I WANT IT!!! I"MA BUY IT!!" Husband said" no you aint..." I said "WATCH..." He called me on his way home from work the next day, I said " Get me some car soap cuz my white car needs to be shinier...." He didn't talk at all... BUT I SAID " I told you I was gonna buy it" LMAO HE WAS TICKED! Anyways.... yea..after 4-5 more years..I'm looking into Audi's....but still keeping the Z

fairladyZ34 09-09-2010 11:53 PM

i just call mine "the Z" when im referencing it

Boost_lee 09-10-2010 12:08 AM
