tvfreakazoid 02-08-2010 09:09 PM

How about exotic sports cars (lambos, bugatti, pagani, ferrari's)? I wouldn't think they need a break in period.

All cars have a certain amount of time to acclimate to real driving. Most exotics are bench tested for hours before they go into the car, but that does not limit break in.

Within the first 1000 miles there are little shaving and imperfections that the engine emits, This is why the first oil change is crucial in a timely period.

Not really. Nissan recommends the first change as a normal routine oil change e.g. 7500 miles. I guess they have a lot of faith in their oil filter.

I figure the $40 is good prevention.

Well first off - its 3750 miles to the 1st oil change... and if you penny pinch 100 bucks here n there which causes your engine to die - you will regret it later...
