You can switch your car from honk to just flash lock by pressing both remote buttons at the same time.

And don't point your wipers in the air if there is going to be more than 6" of snow.

what is with the wiper trick?

Here's a great tip:

Stick your Z in the garage during late fall, winter, and early spring. That way it stays clean, dry and happy.

Also wait until at least the 2nd or 3rd heavy rain to wash all/most the crap off the road, so you're not getting peppered.

^^^ or use a car cover and buy a crap car ..

There's not much of a trick as it is a manual process of raising the wipers. The purpose is to prevent your wipers from getting frozen to the windshield, however if there is going to be a lot of snow the arm could get bent from the weight, and if it is an ice storm the wiper turns into a ice block.

Personally, I think its better to leave them on the glass, as defrost would heat the glass up, in turn heating up the wipers.

Start hte car, use the fob to lock it, walk away, come back 20 minutes later, wipe/scrape off whatever is on the windshield and under the wipers, problem solved.

I did that exact same thing with my Frontier. With the Frontier, I have to use the key to start/run it, so I just keep the FOB seperate, and go back in the house and lock the doors.

Who needs remote start when you have remote locks?

^^ yea thats what i did but with my z no key needed

Here's a tip: get winter tires and enjoy your ride all year round! Why put your car in storage for 6 months of the year. It's a car, not a Rembrandt painting

6 months? Seriously? Where do you live - Alaska? That, and enjoy rust in 4-6 years? No thanks.

4 seasons, 1 is winter = 3 months. I last drove my Z in December. March will be about when I bring it out, if not later this month. Just waiting for the rains to begin.

I thought about taking it out today, as most of the sand/salt has been swept off the roads by traffic, but...nah.

any other tips like best way to run at the track or... best fuel economy

Keep your fuel tank topped up as opposed to only putting in a few dollars at a time. This will reduce the chance of condensation in the fuel tank and mixing with the gas.

Winter tires are for temps below ~50F. When I was in Chicago, my winter tires were on the car from a bit before TurkeyDay to late April. Between 5 and 6 months.
