Factory alarm question.
 

Under what conditions does the factory alarm trigger. I had a friend of mine sit in the car while i locked the car with the FOB and walked away. I had him try and open the door from the inside a few seconds later, and the alarm didn't go off. Is there a certain period that it takes for the alarm to arm?

i just found out (after nearly a year) that i had one! i left my windows down in the parking structure at work, and later came out to get something out of the glove box. opened the door from the inside...alarm went off! keys were a good 5 minutes away, was pretty embarrassing.....

I did the same thing today in my own garage! Had to run upstairs to grab the key :rolleyes:

So what does a Viper alarm have that the stock alarm doesn't?

if your friend hit the unlock botton then he disarmed the system.
but i think the system is armed after like 45 sec or so after the red light starts blinking in the dash.
