Nismo or 40th Anniversary POLL
With the 40th Anniversary 370Z estimated to cost around $38,000 and the Nismo priced $1,000 more which one would you choose?
:eekdance: |
Jeepersnate, not to sound like an ******* but I just wanted to remind you about OPSEC. I SUGGEST you change your sig and location.
|
Nismo's are available every year but a 40th is only available for one year.

It comes down to what you want more.
~Anniversary - Luxury, with rare/unique colors (Wheels, calipers, body) ~Nismo - Sporty, non-luxury Z, with upgrade performance/suspension parts If you are going to ask which will be more rare, the anniversary will be. |
No doubt, I'd go the 40th!
|
I'm looking to buy in September. If there were any anniversary z's left I would definitely get one
|
40th.

What's so special about the 40th? As far as I can tell they paint your calipers red and give you some red stitching, am I missing something?
|
form follows function, so nismo. i agree with the above post. the 40th anniversary is just some caliper paint, red stitching, a few nameplates, and gray colour.

Depends what your using the car for I suppose but I'd rather have the Nismo. I'd like to see the 40th interior though, silver with Red interior has always been one of my favorites but it has to be the right car.
|
ahhh id still take my nismo over it...nothing that special to jump on it for over the nismo IMOP...

Well if you are going to keep it then is going to be special as a collectible. Or maybe a die hard Z fan. Plus for sure the 40th edition will some special Identification code! ;) |
I would go with the Nismo
50th would be the one to buy. |
40th over the Nismo

Thanks to all that have participated in the poll so far and all advice given. I was leaning towards the 40th before starting this thread and I like the fact that the 40th comes with the sport package. I love the interior.

Apparently Nissan doesn't want to spend the extra money it would take to really make the Anniversary model a special car. I would love to see an Anniversary Z that offers the best of the Nismo and the Touring, sort of like the Grand Touring 350Z which had the best of the Track and Touring models. In the end it's all about the cost and the price point of the Z I'm afraid. Maybe the 50th Anniversary will be that special car. BTW It can be done. Modshack just picked up a mint conditon 2003 20th Anniversary GTI that has a bunch of performance upgrades over the regular GTI as well as cosmetic upgrades. |

"The 35th Anniversary 350Z (2005) was the similarly packaged except it had the rev up motor that became the standard engine for 2006 (so did the 2005 Track model too though)." I didn't know that, good info. The way I see it is this: It would be alot easier to get the Nismo performance parts for a 40th anniversary owner. I don't think it would be that easy for a Nismo owner to get that exact interior without it being a little difficult. I'm crazy about it. |
That interior is HOT!!!!
If you get it I'll trade you my Nismo interior HAHAHAHHA |

Stay safe out there  |
I would prefer a base model with sport package and spend the savings on "real" performance upgrades. StopTech brakes, exhaust, intake, suspension, wheels, tires, ecu re-flash, oil cooler... oh wait, I already have that! Next on the list is Vortech...
The anniversary editions are interesting, I've thought about them a few times over the years, but never felt compelled enough to pull the trigger. |
