You forgot the point about adding heat shields so his car, so it doesn't show up on the thermal camera of the police helicopter. Reduce your heat signature! :driving:

Yeah that too but IDK how you would do that?

oh absolutely not. they are such a bunch of adorable nice guys who are misunderstood by the misinformed public :roflpuke2::bowrofl::rolleyes:

Minicobra1 02-04-2010 04:34 AM

This thread is :supergay: Never run from the cops, it's not worth the risk. If you get tagged, pull over, take the ticket, pay the fine. If you run, you will get caught, rarely does anyone get away. You will do jail time, prob 3-6mo. and if you cause property damage or hurt or kill someone, obviously way more time, not worth it. It sucks to get a ticket, but the alternative if you run will be way worse.

But to be honest, with things like flip down plates, driving without lights and custom kill switches you sound like you are looking to rob a bank or do something much worse than speeding.

What kind of driving do you do?!

:iagree:

This sounds like criminal intent to me. I'd be carful about what I was saying online if I were him.

XBadgerX 02-04-2010 07:53 AM

If you are really giong to get the cb radio and go all out on this stealth project than you have the wrong car. You are going to have to trade in your Z, get the New Maro ( or buy a used TA) and put the Biggest Gold Phoenix sticker that you can find on the hood. Note also that your car will have to be black. You will have to change your name to Bandit Jr. and you will also have to find a b*tch as ugly as Sally Fields which shouldn't be too hard. GL w/ your quest...

Slynky 02-04-2010 08:13 AM

Didn't read the whole post and this is just a somewhat related question:

(and maybe more for AK than others)

In my RSX, I ran a straight cord up from the dash around the windshield (behind the plastic molding) and over to the rear-view mirror where the connector popped out and I plugged it into my Escort 8500. The windshield caps are so pathetic that I used silicone inside the cups to "glue" it to the glass and keep it stuck there right above the mirror.

Looking to mount the Escort in my Z, of course and I see there is this matrix of black dots around that area of the windshield. GRRRRR !!!

So, teh question:

Where are you guys mounting your detectors? I can tell you right now, I don't fancy the look of an exposed cord on my dash at all.

As I'm sure you're well aware not everyone is good at their job or should even be working in the field they work in but the majority of cops do it because they want to help. Why would you pick a job where most people dislike you (until they come save you from the bad guy of course)? That's kind of like saying that Firemen don't really care if they put out fires or Ambulance attendants don't really care about saving lives.

Would you pick a job where your life is at an elevated risk every day? Where people automatically hate you in general? Its likely one of the most thankless jobs around.

I hate getting caught for doing something I'm not suppose to be doing (eg speeding). I can think of every reason in the world why I shouldn't be getting a ticket but the fact is by signing for your licence you've agreed to obey the laws of the road or suffer the consequences.

Maybe you can explain what you mean by Police officers protecting citizens is BS....

GingaBreadMan 02-04-2010 08:16 AM

Cops don't protect jack. They come after $hit has gone down. Which of course is no fault of their own. That's just how life works. Speeding tickets saves lives. If we didn't have them everyone would do 100mph all the time. Thankfully cops give a 15mph grace, because going 50mph is like driving backwards. Their only doing their jobs.

Regardless even if it was true that Police have no intrest in you or me putting their lives at risk is not acceptable. That's the whole point of my statement.

i'm surprised no one has brought up retrofitting the Z with a smoke screen or oil slicks

anyways, stealth mode is for the weak..when i traffic millions of dollars of drugs, i like to take the brute force approach and take my nuclear powered armored mech...as you can see i just got 4-point racing seats installed

Goop or Shoe Goo is the ultimate semi-permanent adhesive. It will stick pretty much anything to anything and you can usually slowly pry the two piece apart depending on the strenght of both pieces. You only need a thin film and you can usually use tape to clamp most bits on with.

Seriously dude.. just don't drive like a jackass and you wont get tickets.. Millions of people across the country seem get along just fine with-out having to "batman-out" their ride.

A custom (made) kill switch would allow you to turn off findividual lights, or some combination by hitting one switch.

There are actually several uses the IR camera can perform.
If you are travelling at night on roads that are not lite it can help prevent hitting dear etc provided it's used in addition to headlights; and it can show debris in the road long before you reach it.

Just because you're paranoid DOESN'T mean they aren't watching you!!!

You can buy a custom made detector bracket that attaches to the rear view mirror.

I know a lot of guys that have become cops because they have nothing else going for them, couldn't make it through college, and it is a REALLLLYY easy job with good benefits.

I don't know about their job being "REAALLLYY easy". Unless, the guys you know are policing a small town or "nice" area.

But this thread has been entertaining though. It's a bit slow at work!

NYBladeZ 02-06-2010 11:54 PM

Man you guys are hating on him for trying to make a Z batmobile. I for one will support his imagination. Alright dude first thing you need is some radar reflecting flat black paint. I'm sure any stereo and alarm spot can hook you up with a kill switch for your lights, might have to give them some extra under the table. Go buy Call of Duty special edition since it comes with night vision goggles. Stay away from any aftermarket exhaust systems since it will make your car louder and easily discernible. Police scanners are illegal to posses, you can get blinders and radars for a pretty $, hope that helps.

NYBladeZ 02-06-2010 11:58 PM

Oh sht, I just read he's on the East Coast, not the type of guy I want to be sharing the road with, hope you aren't in NY.
