good bye, crappy gauge cluster
2 Attachment(s)
I purchased and installed the nifty city digital gauge cluster, and I have to say that it's impressive. It's clean, easy to install and very responsive.
It pairs very nicely with their tablet infotainment too. I have the first version, so I can't integrate them, but I'm going reach out to them to see what integration options the 2nd version offers. |
That looks nice.

so essentially you have moved the 3 gauge cluster to the front. Nice. Now it leaves you 3 holes to fill up with more usefull items like oil pressure and what ever else.
what is the -39F? Seems you have triplicated all the gauges. can those be customized? Nice to see water temp in numbers and scale versus LED's lighitng up. |

Another fault I found: Rev match no longer works and I can't get sport mod to turn on |
Quite a few of us requested customizable gauges when they were taking pre-development input. I see none of that was implemented.
But, for the gauges that are displayed to partially work and S-mode to stop working completely... you should ask around the G37/R35 pages to see if any of them are having the same issues since their clusters have been out a while longer. At the moment, I can't see myself paying that much for less functionality than stock. |

I think that its something simple and can be fixed easily. There's a delay when engaging S mode after pressing the button, so there seems a check by the ECU, such as turning on the light (among other things I'm sure). I'm fairly confident that they'll figure it out. NC has been pretty responsive so far |
I'm really curious to see how carplay works on a setup like this (without the V2 unit sync) AND with how it works better with V2.

I could install the 10in Emtron display. It's just not worth all the custom work to make it happen unless Emtron would donate their time to make it work properly. That's not happening. LOL

yeah, haltech released their 10 inch screen fairly recently. It was tempting to do the upgrade from the ic-7 to the 10, but I would have had a hard time selling the one i have.
The latest software release was a pretty good upgrade; you can now program the gear indicator with your ratios, as well as define custom conditions to flash the CEL. I have yet to spend some time getting my custom logos back on there though. Older software: EDIT: What i'd like to know is how Nifty City solved the issue with the charging circuit. -_- |
I am on a standalone so I can see all of that. I have the voltage diplayed on my 5in display. I am just worried about turn signals, high beam, cruise control, mileage display, Gear, fuel gauge, etc. If I installed this display my stock one would have to come out and do another 3D scanned and printed one. The question is what other curve balls would I get thrown in the process.

I'm just curious to see in photos/video how this works and what EXACT limitations are there if not using the V2. I also have the Autometer dongle and app that I currently use on the center screen, so if that can port over to the cluster I can add any gauge configuration I want in that section, which would be phenomenal. |
Yeah, I'm advising everyone to hold off from purchasing at the moment. The tachometer is off by 10% or so (in the lower rpms at least, not sure if it's linear). My tablets ECU reader, which I know to be dead accurate, reads 3000 rpm and the dash tach is at approx 3300. The red line on the dash is 8500 (no biggie), but the shift ligh starts flashing yellow around 5k
I've sent this to nifty city, and they've added it to their queue, but if this isn't fixed I'm sending it back. I'm not an app engineer and I'm not getting anything from helping unscrew their product |
I hate this thread. It is giving me bad ideas that cost money. LOL

This is why analog is better.
