Just waiting on a wrecked Z at the wreckers for the encouragment. :D

I was searching for dash swap and found that, I don't know how is the project going or anything, but ill post again if I find something new.

Honestly the idea of giving the interior a fresh look is awesome, since the exterior for me is perfect already.

Sadly the 400z is not available in europe, so ill need to wait a lot more to find something wrecked or import it.

I would love to be able to use the new Z instrument cluster in my 370. I'm hoping it'll be somewhat simple with a harness and maybe a quick programming (at most).
I was waiting on the Nifty City version, but they've delayed it three times since I started asking in October and they even raised the price to $1999 (more than the Z dash).
Here's hoping and soon (fingers crossed)

You can always do one of these.

Although that is an option, I'd prefer if it wasn't a laughable amount for such a simple product, lol.
Besides, I'd like to keep a more natural look instead of having a somewhat rectangle block in the middle :D

That's what 3d scanning and printing is for.

I'm waiting for someone to swap steering wheel and see if airbag/srs and buttons work properly. For me steering wheel is the ugliest part of 370z's interior.

cooltoy 02-13-2025 10:59 PM

Even uglier.

OptionZero 02-14-2025 12:26 PM

I guess if you want to retain all the wheel's functionality, a stock replacement is best

but most people swapping wheels are doing it for either:
1) appearance
or
2) function. Moving the wheel to suit your driving position, and/or adding a quick release to get in/out of a fixed bucket

I didn't notice that they changed the center console such that there's no longer the 3 switches (or blanks). I use those for Air Cup controls and the secondary fuel pump. Sucks for RZ34 owners, physical switches are convenient

ZoomZ 02-17-2025 12:18 PM

I like The shift knob in new Z. Should be same thread size/pitch but might be shorter. Have to see if someone swaps out. ;)

ZoomZ 02-17-2025 12:21 PM

Yes, the new steering wheel in not that great looking. However, I do have Nismo, so it's not really a good comparison.

filip00 02-20-2025 08:13 AM

I always like the Qashqai steering wheel, but I'm not sure if it's easily fittable to the Z.

The RZ34 and Z34 side skirts look to be the same shape - anyone know if they're cross compatible?

Z1 says they aren't compatible

must be something along the rear edge that was changed

IMO nothing good in the new Z interior, looks like many other car brands. Center console look pain jane without the switches. Steering wheel from a compact SUV, hate digital gauge clusters cause I'm old (school), AC controls look like their buried and a PITA to access.

The Nismo and Performance (I believe) still have the 3 switch positions on the center console. The Nismo only has a single position being used for the hatch release, the Performance (or whichever model it was) looks like the seat heaters along with the hatch release.

Back on topic, the Nismo strut brace for the RZ34 fits the Z34; I'm running one since I can no longer use the 3-point due to where my swirl pot mounts on the firewall.

Will it also fit over the engine cover? I notice yours is removed.

Do you feel that the 3 point was even neccesary?

Afterall, I believe the chassis in RZ34 is same as Z34?. Are there engine bay and front suspension differences that Nissan altered to get away with 2 point?

It'll fit with the OEM cover, but since the 2-point is narrower than the 3-point, it doesn't look as good IMHO. Also, I've been running a Password:JDM harness cover the last few years and recently swapped over to a Bull Boost cover I modified to fit my vacuum block, so only the rear half would work anyway with my setup (the new harness cover is at the powdercoater so that's why it's not pictured).

I don't know if the 3 point was necessary, but I only track my car a few times each year so I wouldn't notice it as much as someone who does so more consistently.

NorthStyle 04-15-2025 04:38 AM

Here's a picture with the new harness cover along with the rear half of the engine cover.

In similar news: Does anyone know if the door "step light" (i.e, the red reflector on the inside door card of each car door) is illuminated on the new Z? I'd love it if there were any easy way to illuminate those red lenses on our cars.

Hey can you post the part numbers, or a pic of the receipt?

I just bought two new door panels from Nissan for my 370Z at $1200 each, and I don’t want them scuffed up.

I'd rather have the added rigidity of the 3 point brace and there's gotta be a engineering reason why Nissan included it in the Z34. Mass car manufacturers don't incur such costs for nothing.

I'd rather have it too but, again, it gets in the way of my swirl pot so 2pt + swirl pot > 3pt - swirl pot (to me, at least).

Relocate battery to trunk and swirl pot to its position. ;)
