Shattered hatch glass

One of my wacky neighbors was target practicing yesterday morning. Heard two shots. Went out a couple of hours later and found my window shattered. I’m hoping it was an accident, but I have my doubts for reasons I don’t really want to get into. Good news is the tint is holding the glass together, for now, and my insurance is replacing it for $50. The bad news is Safelight can’t come out to replace it until sometime in October (maybe) due to “supply chain issues”. It’s a shite sandwich, but what choice do I have?

The line of supply chain issues is true and is impacting all industries across the board (EFF YOU Covid!). Even the CSC kit I’m trying to order is on backorder.

Have you tried other companies? May be the same story but could be worth a try.

blame the pop-up tornado for the flying brick.

Neighbor should be paying it for ya as your insurance rate will increase.

Easy motivation is informing them you'll be calling the law the next time they're discharging firearms in city limits.

Discharging firearms in this part of the State is legal and I can’t prove who actually did it. Just moved here a month ago, but I have my suspicions, and I don’t think it was an accident either.

Safe lite was able to replace the glass yesterday, a couple of weeks before what they originally told me, which was cool.

And yes, you were right, my insurance went up $10 a month. Haven’t had a claim in 20+ years so I don’t know if the price hike was do to the claim or the move.

Glad you got it replaced sooner than later.

If it was me. and I knew who did it. I would be repaying the favor about 3 months later. Give them time to forget about it. The next door neighbor who broke the windshield in my one car couldn't figure out why his windshield kept cracking a year later. I waited one year to the day. He went through 6 windshields in 6 months. The guy had the nerve to ask me if I thought it was bad installs and causing stress in the glass. :rofl2:

Hahahaa! That’s awesome! It’s an open secret that they’re dealing meth out of their house. A week after we moved in the Sheriff showed up with about 10 deputies and hauled them off. I’m Italian and from New Jersey and it was instilled on me that you don’t ever rat on someone, but I’ve got a funny feeling they don’t think it was a coincidence. I do plan on having a range session in my front yard in case they feel the need to do it again. I will return fire if it happens again. ;)

That’s a good question! I never thought about it. I’ll check and let you know.

As someone else mentioned, unfortunately, any time you call your insurance for anything they have to do, it's a claim on your policy.

Time to switch carriers. I've been with Geico for 15 years and no claims/tickets/etc., but my sh!t keeps going up every 6-months renewal. So I called around and at the time of cancelling my policy, they miraculously found other discounts I was missing out on.

On a side note, I still can't believe I thought you were a chick all these years :rofl2::rofl2:

Such a well-thought out and elaborate plan, with lots of patience.

These days you can identify as anything you want. :wtf2:

That’s funny because I’ve been with Gieco for 7 years after Progressive started doing that. Now Gieco’s doing it to me too. You're right, time to look elsewhere. Although with a recent claim, I imagine it will be tough.

 WTF somebody shot out your back window? :shakes head:

Man, keep the car in the garage. Sounds like you live in a sketchy hill-billie type area. Sorry to hear.

How I imagine your neighbors:

"we like our meth and we don't take kindly to imports round here"

"Hey Cleetus, that yellow ricer dares to park within our eye sight again, you shoot out that yankees back window to let 'em know he's not welcome"

Literally sounds like the beginning to an action movie or horror movie. :eekdance:

Action Movie: You blow up the hill-billie meth house after a shootout with all their family / cousins.
Horror Movie: You get tortured and eaten by hill-billies.

That’s exactly what it’s like. It’s like that “fear thy neighbor” show on Discovery.

I don’t see this ending well for one of us. No joke. The only thing I have going for me is the entire neighborhood is tired of them. Somebody called the cops on them already and it wasn’t me.

I’m thinking they’ll either blow themselves up, OD, or get convicted of a felony. Either way it’s a win for us.
