Rhd conversion?
2013 Nissan 370Z. Hello everyone! I'm very curious to know if anyone has done, knows anyone that has or if its possible to do a Right Hand Drive conversion? Been dying for a RHD car and if my 370 can be done, that'd be fffffffffantastic. If so, does anyone know anyone around the NJ/NY/PA area and where to source the parts from? Also what parts would be needed in order to complete the conversion? THANKS!

Wow, you can probably import another Fairlady Z from Japan and have TWO Zs for the price of attempting this.

I wouldn't bother. From what I heard from people who drive imported RHD cars, it's a bit of a safety issue since we drive on the right hand side of the road. The car is left hand drive here for a reason.

Because an RHD z34 exists, it’s entirely possible; it will also be expensive and impractical

I have driven a LHD car in Australia (we drive on the left obviously) and it is forking dangerous - if you really want to do it, import a lo-mileage RHD from Japan if the US authorities will let you import and register it - otherwise file this in the big circular file on the floor (WPB) or wherever interesting but completely impractical intellectual exercises are stores in your household

I agree with everyone else. You pick the most annoying part of owning a JDM car to try to emulate? If you really want RHD, just get a Skyline. At least that's an exotic cool JDM car.

Back in France (remember Napoleon ordered and started the whole drive on the right side of the road thing), the right hand (for the right dominant handed majority) was used and needed to lash the horses from the wagon.
The driver would be sitting on the left hand side of the wagon in order for his whip, in his right hand, to be located in the centre (console) of the wagon and able to reach horses on both sides of the horse team. Ofcourse, because you are sitting on the left hand side of the wagon, it just made sense to drive on the right side of the road to be able to see oncoming traffic and make sure your wagon wheels did not collide with the wheels of the oncoming wagons. Fast forward a few hundred years; lashing a team of horses with your dominant right hand has been superseded by shifting through the gears of a glorious manual transmission. Thus, if you are in the 90% majority and are right dominant handed, LHD is the correct way to drive. |
Anyone that has the money/resources to do a RHD 370z probably doesnt needs to ask on a forum how to do it

Absolutely not worth the painful headache of just trying to get parts for the job and then having the job done and a professional job at that.
I rather just import a older skyline. |
