Rust inspection for used car in NE

So I just called a dealer of a '17 I'm interested in and left a message that I was wondering if they'd put it on a lift for me to inspect when I visit.

Was that dumb? I wonder if they'll just spray oil all underneath to be sure it looks good. I just don't want to pay $30k for a 6-7 year old car and start dealing with rust cancer in 3 years. Been down that road before here in Pittsburgh.

I went through 3 Z's with Carvana before finding one that was a Cali car with no rust. I would not personally advise buying a rust belt z, even with low miles and newer years they tend to rust more quickly than other cars I've seen.

I have two "rust belt Zs" that get less rust than one "Florida by the sea" car (I used to live in Florida before buying my Zs). I keep my Zs in a car bag with desiccants in the winter and early spring and I do not drive them in the rain. Although the probabilities are that a "rust belt" Z my have more rust than one from a more moderate weather location, it is not a sure thing.

I'm south of the 'burgh. There's no rust on my Z.
