Lower seats

Any ideas on how to sit lower in the car? I have a roadster and I hate how high I sit. I mean, the first bow is not very far from my face and wonder if I would hit it in an accident.

I’d love to sit about 6” lower…any ideas? I’d also love to sit back about 6” as well but I think I would have to cut and rearrange the crossbar behind the seat.

I just wonder if there s a different seat or a different bracket that would get me closer to 6” down and 6” back

Cant get any lower than a Fixed-back bucket seat and some side mounts, although SIX INCHES seems like way too much to hope for

I believe Z1’s new rails let you get the lowest. You will need a Recaro, Sparco, or Bride bucket

Some of the reclinable racing seats probably get you lower

But the biggest gain will come from ditching the slider, thats at least an inch of height removed

The usual disclaimers:
DO NOT GET A CHEAP AFTERMARKET SEAT. This is literally what holds you to the car.

Also, as a practical matter, dont buy any seat before sitting in it first. Setting aside safety and performance, this is where you spend your time, make sure it’s comfortable

Lastly, your can also adjust seating position by pushing the steering wheel closer to you with an afternarket wheel (OMP, Sparco, Nardi etc) combined with a hub, quick release and/or spacer
