What are your top 3 items you would like to monitor on your 370z?

I have been working on developing a low cost, DIY gauge mini-dash for the 370z and G37.

What are your top 3 items you would like to monitor in real time, with a gauge?

Items like:
Engine oil pressure, differential oil temperature, fuel pressure, air/fuel ratio, engine coolant temp (actual, not what the gauge shows) or individual tire pressures.

or list anything else.

Thanks in advance!

Oil pressure, oil temp and coolant temp like it should have been from the factory.

Thanks! I've made a note of your reply.
AND I agree... those are the 3 critical items to know.

To be honest, when I am testing the CAN bus/Bluetooth gauges, I find it very reassuring that my oil pressure is more than the minimum spec at 80C/176F... and even at 92C/198F :)

Tire pressure and temp - the book says the system will tell the driver when tire pressure is unacceptably low. It would be nice to know ahead of time. Tire temps, mostly for those who track.

Actual tire pressure is no problem.... but the tire (air) temp is not available with the factory sensors. (from what I have seen)

However, for those that track, I think real time tire surface temperature at the left, middle and right side of each tire (with data logging) would be informative.

I will add these to the list. The IR (infra-red) tire temps will take a bit of time to develop a low cost easy to use sytsem. (aka wireless)

same

Oil pressure, water temperature two that should be added.

Tranny temperature if an automatic.

Boosted, fuel pressure and afr.

Track, diff temperature.

Thanks for the input!
Just to clarify... you want to know the surface temperature of the road/track?
I can do that with an IR temp sensor... The same sensor I use to get tire surface temps.

Also since I am from the Great White North (Toronto) I don't understand "water temperature" since that stuff freezes solid. I assume you mean engine coolant temp :)

This is pretty much a perfect list.

I added oil pressure gauge and AFR gauge with a wideband sensor. Coolant temps might be nice.

Water temp and coolant temp. Same thing.

I have a temp sensor in my diff cover.

Coolant temps ARE nice. Especially with a vented hood. I like watching the number drop whenever I get going on a highway.

ECUTek covers it for me other than oil pressure and trans temp so I added those 2 gauges.

If ECUTek would get off their rump (doubtful now with 400Z out) to tap the .pid for the trans. temp it would show up on my tablet as well. :shakes head:

It would be nice to swap out the clock for oil pressure.
