Twm shifter- can’t get in 6th
I installed a twm shifter. It worked good the first time I drove it. Now I cannot get the car to shift into 6th gear. If I do I have to pull so hard. I followed the instructions to a T. Not sure why this is happening or if it can be adjusted somehow. Has anyone had this issue or know how to correct it. If not I can’t drive it like this. I will probably have to put the stock one back on or buy a b&m.

The top plate that holds the shifter down needs some adjustment. Loosen up the bolts and wiggle it around.

When the car's in 5th gear, the right side of the plate should just be touching the shifter. Also, the plate has a mark (indent)on it, make sure that mark is on the right side

Thanks so much guys. I will check this tomorrow and let ya know what I find out. The other thing I noticed is sometimes when I shift hard the shifter pops out of the plastic stock spacer/coupler. I have to put it on neutral and press it straight down so it pops back in position. It seems when you pop that out of the stock shifter the plastic clips seem to break or bend backwards. Any fix for this ?

I never had an issue with it and definitely wouldn't have sold it to you if it was defective. Sounds like you got the advice you need.
