Good job guys!

Well our 370Z test car finally arrived, it is not easy getting one
of these right now since they are still so fresh. We are currently testing the stock engine with our GTM VHR Test pipes, and are also developing a 370Z Catback exhaust system. Dyno results will be posted for both once testing is completed.

Looks like we are going to build the first twin turbo 370Z, which should be completed within the next 30 days. At which point we will be taking orders for our GTM 370Z Twin Turbo system.

We are very impressed with the power this car puts out in N/A form, nearly 290rwhp! With test pipes and exhaust we should be over 300rwhp. This model Z is lighter and feels much tighter than the 350Z. This platform is going to be the ticket for road racers, especially with the available Syncro Rev-match on the sport models!

Enjoy the pics and graph, more updates of the progress to follow.

zsport1 01-14-2009 09:48 PM

Sweet!

RCZ 01-14-2009 10:02 PM

What kind of dyno is that? Those numbers are impressive...im glad that at least its not a dynapack.

WShade 01-14-2009 10:37 PM

Dynojet

Endgame 01-14-2009 10:54 PM

Very cool!

zman1910 01-14-2009 11:14 PM

nice...

Asheth 01-14-2009 11:23 PM

Very impressive when compared to the the DE/REV-UP/HR very little drive train loss. And smooth through the power band!! Very Nice Nissan!

finally...

DIGItonium 01-14-2009 11:49 PM

What are the difference's in dyno testing? Is there a particular one that's better than the other(s)?

SnakeBitten 01-15-2009 06:01 AM

Great info thanks. :ughdance: Would have loved to see a HRZ and 370z, both bonestock, back to back dynoed on that same dyno, same day etc just to put things into perspective.

nickcliborne 01-15-2009 06:16 AM

What was the mileage on the car?

I'd expect it to hit 290 once it has a couple thousand miles on the engine.

CrownR426 01-15-2009 12:29 PM

Holy crap those are sick numbers.
Jeez, this car is going to be smoking a lot of cars in the fast lane:driving:

There are various flavors such as Dynojet, Mustang, Dyno Dynamics, and Dynapack. Some models, like Dyno Dynamics, have load barring so it reads lower. My friend's shop has a Dyno Dynamics and is known as the 'heart breaker' dyno because you'll see quite less HP than you would say, on a Dynojet.

People don't like Dynapack because the number reads quite high, not to mention that it's a pain to do. You gotta take off the wheels and if you have an AWD car, you gotta do all 4 of them.

I don't think any particular dyno is better than the other, as long as it's SAE corrected so you have a realistic reading. Dyno just gives you the stats for your car, pretty popular for hobbyists as they like to know what this part and that part add in term of power.

But if you want to do dyno tuning, I'd go with a load barring dyno to simulate the conditions of the roads.

290 RWHP is quite impressive, especially in this strange heat wave we've been having in SoCal the past week.

Skaterbasist 01-15-2009 03:13 PM

Great power and powerband. About the same as the G37 as we should have expected.

coaster 01-15-2009 03:49 PM

Very impressive.

Comparison of other stock VQs on our dyno:

RCZ 01-15-2009 07:20 PM

^^ Now THAT is sexy.

DIGItonium 01-15-2009 09:25 PM

Wow, that really puts things in perspective when comparing it to my '03. Estimating 16% drivetrain-loss, the numbers look pretty close. That wouldn't be such a bad step up after all! Thanks very much George!

Slidefox 01-15-2009 11:20 PM

I see 500whp 370z's in the near future!!

zsport1 01-16-2009 12:01 AM

Great info on the dyno sheets. Especially if they were all done on the same dyno. Puts everything into prespective.

What are the costs to get your ride dynoed?

sbkim 01-16-2009 08:17 AM

Great post! Nice in your face comparison to past 350z models for those 370z haters on the "other" forum.

Depends on your car and shop you go to.
I know the shop near my father's shop does it for 500 but he hooked me up when I took my dad's car for 350. It ranges from like 350-600 I believe, I can be wrong.

It depends on your car, the shop, and if you're going by yourself or is setting up a dyno day event...2wd is a lot less than AWD. At some shops it costs a bit more to get the A/F reading as well.

Typically for a 2wd car with 3 runs and A/F reading, it's usually about ~$100 and ~$200 for AWD car. This is from my observations of the shops I've seen in my years on the different car forums out there and the shops I've visited/hang out at in real life.

I thought these cars were only getting 277rwhp damn 286 is very very imperssive. No wonder the thing is soo damn fast from the factory. Somebody that knows how to drive really well should take it to the track and get some numbers.:postwhore:

LOL! I hope!

sensi09 01-19-2009 02:04 PM

George, do you think you could overlay the 370Z dyno and the HR dyno.

There will surely be boosted 370Zs sooner than later, but I just hope that a turbo gets CARB approval.

That will never happen. The closest company to ever get near that was HKS a few years ago. But they gave up. And now, emission laws are only getting tougher.

COR photog 01-19-2009 03:38 PM

great numbers

zman1910 01-19-2009 03:57 PM

George,

Any particular reason you all decided against the sport package? I assume you will be upgrading with an LSD and BBK of your own. Just curious....

sensi09 01-19-2009 05:19 PM

I do think a manufacturer could obtain carb approval if they wished, but it is an expensive and lengthy process that in the end may not be worthwhile. Many who wish to modify their cars in this manner are not concerned with carb approval to begin with, which creates another deterrent in getting approval.

I can't speak for George, but that's probably the reason. The car will have +/- 500+ HP and they are going to put their own LSD and their own brakes on the car. The aero package has no value to a tuner shop. If I remember correctly, Central 20 in Japan also opted for the base Fairlady Z34 (370z)

There is no need for anything other than a base model for the testing we are preforming and product development.

This car will spend more time on the rack than on the road.

What are Cor wheels? Do you sell rims and tires? I assume from the name.
