Test pipes and air intake

Hey y’all, I’m looking to get test pipes and air intakes at the same time. Any recommendations on test pipes? I’m looking at art pipes , but I’m scared on how loud it’s gonna be . I will be getting tuned again when I get them, No flames. It’s between fast intentions and motordyne so far.

For intakes I’m looking into z1 motor sport intakes because you can just install and not modify anything on the body.

Shoot thanks, I do need carb legal , I am moving to California. Art pipes are nice from who I see , I’m running tomei ti, aam comp y pipe tuned through soho, e-tune. then plan on doing art pipes and injen , or stillen cause of carb. And a z1 plenum spacers cause it’s only 200 dollars

To help you out the only intakes that are carb legal that I know of in VA is the Stillen Gen 3 intake,K&N Typhoon intake, and Ingen intake. If you are deciding to install test pipes I highly recommend the AAM Competition test pipes a specially if you plan on going with the AAM Competition y pipe or any of their exhaust line. Once you install test pipes or the Motordyne arts pipes your Z will be loud with a lot of volume enough to wake up the dead. If you like your Z not being that loud the resonated AAM Competition test pipes is an option they are very slightly quieter than the non resonated AAM Competition test pipes. Catback exhausts will only amplify the sound and make your Z louder.

All brands of test pipes that I have seen and heard all make pops, bang, noise etc. the real difference between the resonated and non resonated is the volume. You have to really enjoy the sound of test pipes to rock them.

Okay that makes sense. Now it’s all up for the brand , I don’t have any rasp currently with the aam y pipe and tomei ti single exit. Cruising speeds are dead quiet even if I’m cruising 85-80. Sitting about 3000-3300 rpm, so I’ll look at videos , or try to find some on gains with the aam test pipes” resonated and the motordyne art pipes

It’s your Z and your choice. I believe if you already have the AAM Competition y pipe I would match it with the AAM Competition resonated or non resonated test pipes. With the Tomei Ti single exit exhaust this will turn the volume up.

Once you replace your cats with test pipes you're no longer CARB-legal.
