I'am not exagerating one bit!Its not the road chips so much because that is to be expected. All though the paint is junk so that causes it to chip so much easier.
Its when the bird sh!t drops on the car!It eats through the clear coat and not just the top coat either. Its eats through deep.Don't know how much clear coat Nissan put on this car so to wet sand will be touchy!Shouldn't have to do this and have had many cars over the years and NEVER had paint as bad as this!
Many coats of wax don't help either!
My car is black as all my cars have been and this is the worst I have ever seen!

Oh come on!!! Do you really expect someone to accept responsibility for their actions in this day and age? Nissan should have installed curb feelers and an auto parallel parking system as standard equipment for the Z.

NYBladeZ 01-20-2010 01:26 PM

the ones posted don't come in 19"

Another great option is to buy used. That goes a long way to relieving "perfect new car" axiety. It can be a blessing if you have that particular problem. Most every day dings can't be seen from 10 feet away, so you know it's there because you polish it every week, but nobody else can see it.

even if they do see it, they don't care because it's not their car :)

First time I read this, I thought you meant they left you $1600. Then I re-read it. That sucks! It really costs that much!???

Wait -- I have this "perfect new car" anxiety, too! Perhaps someone could recommend a new pharmaceutical drug that can make it all go away? :icon14:

The worst part about it is that I want to fix every little thing that's wrong with the car and it costs me a fortune. I'm almost coming to the realization that no matter how hard I try, something will always happen to my cars. Sorry for the rant, but I really needed to vent, lol.

I've tried to do that with the last two wives. But I just keep wearing through the clear coat.

Oh well I can always do a trade-in...again

just click your heels together three times and say. "There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home". Seriously I get what the poster is talking about . It sucks but is inevitable, but I view it like this, if you're a man , you don't want to die without a few scars. Kind of like your car.

I'm sure it does.....don't damage your bumper, fender, headlight assembly, drivers side door, & mirror.......that'll run ya just under $5,000 to fix. :icon14:

LOL...FWIW, that was a special order combination in 2001 and the ONLY one like it in the country...He's got just over 7K miles on the car. Definitely into the preservation thing...

I wonder what that car will fetch long into the future if he keeps the mileage down.

Happened back in late December. Going to AAM to get the RE-11's taken off and the stockies put back on because.....shocker, so I don't get in an accident during the winter. :icon14: It was raining really bad that morning and the tires gave way and next thing I knew I had crossed the double yellow and as I was adjusting back over a dang median snuck up on me. It's repaired and all better now! (And seriously....$4975 to repair that damage)
