Got rear ended and have a question

So yesterday, I got rear ended by a Ford Explorer. It bumped me pretty good, it was loud and my car bounced forward a couple of feet. I expected to see a decent amount of damage but there's only a scuff mark and a small crack in the paint. Question is, is it possible that there is any non visible damage behind the bumper I should be concerned about? I have a 2019 Base model. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the bumper will need to be pulled and the car inspected.

There's not much there so you may be ok. Pretty easy to remove the rear bumper and look yourself. If your not inclined to do that, I would definitely have a knowledgeable shop take a thorough look at it to be sure.

It's on his dime. Take it to a collision specialist and have it looked at. If you had your foot on the brake, a couple of feet is a nasty hit. I would suspect there is a LOT wrong underneath the plastics.

Thanks, I'll go ahead and take it in. It will be covered by other driver's insurance anyways. Hoping scuffs and crack can repaired without needing to repaint the bumper though

If it's on his dime you might as well get a repainted bumper... if you can find a place that can paint match

Not funny. I got screwed over and put through the ringer because of all the fakers/con artists...

You'll be surprised with hidden damages. Broken tabs on your taillights, crushed bar and styrofoam, bent wall, etc. Good luck with your repairs.

I don’t know why the fakers would screw you. I got screwed by an uninsured drunk, my insurance company and my lawyer. Unless you count screws and a rod in your leg “compensation”. I don’t.

I believe he meant that he had to go through a lot of b*llsh!t for an actual medical issue because of all the people (fakers/con artists) claiming non-existent whiplash just to make $$$
