What I would love to see (or read)...

How about one of these “reviewers” put their “it’s old and basic” bias on the side and actually review the car for what it is. A brand new factory warranted affordable sports car!

How come these clowns don’t start their mustang reviews with “well it’s been around for 5 years now”, blah blah blah...

Review the car on what it is, not what is was or should be! It’s passé, it’s been done to death. I get it, it’s basic.

How about you just get behind the wheel and drive the frigging thing and report on how it handles, the response, the drivetrain, you know the **** that matters for someone looking to buy one?

I don’t care about the “info center” I didn’t buy it for that!

I wish just one of you “experts” would think out of the box and review it for what it is. A basic, affordable, daily driveable sports car that can be modified cheaply due to the plethora of bolt on’s.

Since you guys are so hung up on how “old” a brand new car is, why don’t you do a review with the 2019 Z against a 5 year old mustang?

I dare you!

:iagree: and I think you just wrote 60% of the review for them :bowrofl:

I would finish the other 40%, but It’s Not my “job”. Besides, I own one, I want to hear someone else’s (unbiased) opinion.

Reviewer: I'd like to review one of your cars.
Manufacturer: Sure!

Exactly. What are they reviewing that hasn’t been beaten to death already. C’mon! Think out of the box!

The only thing I got out of that review was it’s ugly. And I didn’t need them to tell me that.

I do find it amusing tho that so many people watch these “reviews”. I’ve been driving sports cars longer than these kids have been alive. Maybe I should start “reviewing”?

The whole info center complaint comes from people attracted to shiny things, I suppose. Hey look, lights, sounds, things flashing, stuff happening. The Lexus RC I looked at had all of that. What it didn't have is a manual transmission. So, skip!!

The first thing these guys say is oh look! a giant tach in the middle of the dash. That’s so cool!

Well, yea, all true sports cars have that, don’t they? It’s kind of important with a manual transmission. Not so much with those really cool paddle shifters! Oh, wait, it’s “old”

Here is my review:

The car is great. It is just slow in stock form. LMAO.

Felix 808 08-19-2019 02:26 PM

For me, most reviews are a waste of time. There are a few informative ones out there but I find most are just snobbish irrelevant biased garbage. I know & like what I like regardless of what others may say. I don't need to have someone re-affirm my decision or get butt-hurt because some jaded clown says I should "avoid the AT like the plaque" confirming his ignorance.

YMMV

My point exactly. How does he know how the AT drives? I didn’t see him test one, did you?

They have a narrative in mind before they even drive it. Then all they have to do is fit the review to the narrative.

It’s like they watch other reviewers and parrot what they’ve heard.

Every breathing, non-incarcerated human being in America has an "info center." It's called a smart phone. All in-car "info centers" do is further distract the driver into the "center" of the county coroner's exam room.

A car reviewer is just like the people who b*tch on the forum - "I want Ferrari performance and Lexus quality at Hyundai prices."

Define slow. Toyota 86 slow?

Cyber370 08-21-2019 05:29 AM

Yeah, I don't consider the 370Z to be slow by any means. It was never meant to be a 1/4 mile car (through out its history). But 0-60 in approx. 5 seconds is not "slow" especially for a 30k car.

Regardless, it's funny how reviewers rarely complain about how slow the Mazda MX5. They just say it's a great handling sports car that does everything well, "feels" fast and how "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow", blah, blah, blah.

Bottom line: Most car reviewers will tend to mimic and follow other reviewers and crap on anything that is not the flavour of the day, does not have enough bells and whistles and is older than 5 years.

Haters are gonna hate. IMO, the Z is in a class of its own and a luxury item. One can buy, for example, a mustang for less the money and get more power than of a Z, and the Z isn’t cheap, so essentially, you have to be able to afford a Z. Heck, some member(s) here commit insurance fraud to even drive one.

Bottom line: I love my Z and that’s what matters. I don’t give a flying f*ck about what these “reviewers”, including douche demuro, have to say.

OptionZero 08-21-2019 05:29 PM

or, stop watching or reading reviews of the Z, since all they do is rile you up?

its a ten year old car, none of this is surprising
