Breaking News - CSC Class Action Lawsuit
SF appeals court reverses lower court’s denial of class-action status in Nissan lawsuit
Finally some long overdue good news! "A federal appeals court on Friday reinstated a proposed statewide class-action lawsuit accusing Nissan Motors of installing defective hydraulic clutch systems, which can cause a clutch pedal to stick to the floor, on some Nissan and Infiniti models dating to 2007." "The company issued a service bulletin in 2013 instructing dealers to replace the clutch systems, but has never notified consumers, the suit said. Wu said he has heard many reports of other stalls and breakdowns, but none that caused major injuries." Don't know if he's on the forum here, but big shout-out and appreciation to Huu Nguyen of San Jose for filing this suit! And if there are any lawyers here that can comment about the possibility of the class being extended from California to rest of the US, please offer your comments! |
...don't forget about us Canadians too! :excited:

Great news but the 370Z dates from 2009.

I am curious why it ends at 2015 as I'm not aware of any changes from 2016 on. |
The only folks that win are the lawyers. You will get chicken crap scraps.

Tbh I think all this really does at most is scare Nissan out of making another manual sports car.
They just announced they were cutting 12,500 employees and levels of production due to significantly declining sales. This is like more salt on the wound against doing anything ambitious. |

Personally, All I want is my car fixed on their dime. If Nissan were smart (they’re not) they will offer an extended warranty for CSC issues in lei of a lawsuit. You have the right to “opt out” of a CAS and I would gladly do that if they put in writing they’ll cover the cost if need be. Ball is in their court, let’s see how they want to play it. |

Nissan has been playing with house money long enough. Time to man up! |

If the service bulletin to repair was issued in 2013 is it safe to assume that all models after that have whatever fix they're issuing?

Even though I have an AT in my Z, you think there's a way I could get in on this sweet payout action??? :ugh2: |

Yup the only one who wins in CA's is the snake lawyers who feed off of those that suffered the CSC failures. |

They’ve only won the right to FILE a suit. Being it’s going back in front of the judge that initially dismissed it, I’d say $7 might be a high figure. |

On topic though. Too little too late. Z34's are almost out n dont sell. By the time people with failures get money? They would've bought 2 more cars... and inflation will make your $1000 worthless. |
so if there is a bulletin on the issue and I have not been contacted, is it safe to say that I can contact the dealer and ask if they would consider changing the part with another newer but also possible defective part?..will do it tomorrow anyways:driving:

Be sure to let us know their answer and which dealer.

Just an update. I did call the dealer and they gave me the # for Nissan USA (1 978 969 8764) and waited a bit. So I redialed and pressed 2 for Spanish, done deal, a second later Mario answered and said that there are no service bulletins for the 370Z or recalls but took my information just in case there was an issue in the future. He created a case number for record and I suggest you take the time to do this, enough people maybe we can make this happen. He also went online and I gave him the site which has the lawsuit posted, good luck and who knows one day I hope I dodn't have to re-visit this topic, PM me if you want to exchange case numbers. :driving: |
Faulty Concentric Slave Cylinder - 2019 Base Model
Anyone with a recent model Z34 having any problems with their CSC?
I've contacted the law firm for Mr. Nguyen (Capstone Law Firm) and a member of the firm has indicated that only California residents are qualified to join the class action. |
My CSC was replaced at 550(?) miles.
It would whine loudly at about 3200rpm when I revved the engine in neutral. After they replaced it I had to return to the dealership when the symptoms started up again - then they started giving me the run-around. Called Nissan Consumer Affairs - seems like all they do is record the telephone conversations and refer you back to the dealer. I'm at the Better Business Bureau with this now, as the shifting continues to degrade after the original repair. Won't slot into 2nd, grinding 2nd (happened 3 times now), can't downshift into 1st, etc. |
Let's just say they award a replacement, who among us would want to ever go back? It's a proven piece of 5h!t.
|
i'm glad i got the automatic because of this
Nissan are a bunch of bastards for not permanently fixing this |
