Rear Ended, Car Totaled, What Next
First off... I'm fine, no worries.
Got rear ended on the highway when traffic suddenly stopped. Crushed the rear end broke the tail light but didn't damage the fenders. Brake light stayed on after impact. Must be some frame damage in there. I even put a dent in the headliner with my head. If your tall, get rear ended and feel the metal in the roof reinforcement with your head you've probably damaged the head liner. Looking for recommendations for upgrades. |
Glad you are ok. I'd get another Z. One with a Fast Intentions Twin Turbo kit :driving:
|
I'd love that but...California. I'll be staying within CARB restrictions.
|
Get an Aston Martin then :yum: |
Budget would help..
R8 v8s are getting pretty (relatively) inexpensive. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing GTRs are also getting affordable https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing |
get one of those new 307z's with the fancy $2k stickers.
|
Neck brace, call to lawyer, kick back with a cold one and wait for your new Z. ;)
|
glad your ok, sorry about the Z

Happened to me last year. Won't lie i was going to sit on my payout but got a killer deal (under msrp + 1.5% finance rate due to company benefits) and got the 19 nismo (my 19 build in 18) last september.
Slapped on a fi exhaust last week and holy sheet. Handling is perfect for street. Exhaust gives le burble pops and nice noise but not wtf was that. Do it! |

Again, in NJ there is a state run uninsured motorist pool that EVERYONE pays into. That’s separate from the under/non insured policy you can pay extra for. If you required surgery, you are entitled to pain and suffering. Unless you were performing brake checks? JK... |
Budget: I think the wife freak out level for a used car would be around 40k.
|
Any more than that and I'll have to buy her another new car effectively doubling by cost level. LOL

Happy to read you are ok. I would stay with the 370Z or maybe have a look at a pre-owned C7 Grand Sport. Good luck.

He claimed that he couldnt stand or sit for prolonged periods of time, couldnt play with his kids like he used to, etc. Was suing for 30k+. He sat on his @ss the whole 3 days of the trial. Showed no discomfort. Needless to say, deliberation was quick, he lost. Awarded him less than 2k. |

I have no use for the thieves that game the system with slip and falls and chiropractic claims. Nobody fakes surgery on their neck, and should be compensated for it. |

Glad to hear OP is ok. If you decide to get another Z, look into a VR swap; at least, that is what I would do if I wanted to stick with the Z.
|
C7? save more money and get yourself a 911!
|
that new vette is sweet. I'd go for that or a used ZL-1 in a heartbeat.
|
Right now I'm leaning Corvette. 911s get a little pricey once you start looking at the good ones.
|
I need to find out if I fit in one.

BMW M2
Toyota Supra Corvette Grand Sport Camaro ZL1 Mustang GT PP2 Charger SRT scat pack Used Nissan GTR Used Audi R8 Used MB C63 AMG. Jaguar F type. Not in any particular order. But all hit the next level of performance and are fun as hell. |

Picked up my new ride last night. While it's not a 370, it's still a Z. Probably won' be hanging out here as much as before. It's been a great forum with lots of great info here. A lot more than the corvette forum appears to have on first impressions.

Pretty :yum:
