Clear bra question!
So, I know a lot of you guys have a clear bra on your hood, front bumper, quarter panels, hood, etc. My question is when you wax your car do you wax the parts covered by the clear bra too or do you use something else on those parts? Thanks in advance!

I have a clearbra on my car, and I wax the bra as I do the other parts of the car. I try to avoid the edges, but other than that, it should be a-ok. Btw, the wax I use is NXT.

When you wax it can you see a difference?

Why would u wax the clear bra in the first place??? I have ventureshield on mine and all I do is wash it. I ask the shop where I got it done and even they told me to just wash it.
BTW, my clear bra has saved me sooo much time in waxing. :icon17: |
I dont think silver need a wax anyway, it doesnt even look that dirty. Just my 0.2 cents if I ever own silver

I wax it and it looks (er looked) great! I wouldn encourage you to wax it - if you are using a synthetic (I like the Turtle ICE because you can use it on your plastics as well - NXT recomends you don't use theirs on plastic) go right over the edge - with a carnuba be careful so you don't have a white line. The bra can be quite "grabby" especially when you are washing and the wax helps to keep stuff from sticking to the bra.

The business who applied this was called 'Ducoscratch'. Merrick is halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast (AUSTRALIA)
Paint Protection for your car or bike - Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast The film can be washed with normal car wash. However, at the end, you must apply a thin layer of Plexus Glass Polish/Cleaner to it with a mircofibre cloth and then buff it off. It leaves a lovely wax like finish to it. This is required as part of the warranty. Reasons why I got my clear car bra? My car has 3,600kms on it and I have owned it since July 2009. In that time, I got a fair few stone chips due to highway/country driving when it was never. This was as a result of the shape of the car and its poor paint quality. My Z has the clear car bra applied to: 1. Entire bonnet 2. Lights 3. Front bumper 4. Front fenders 5. A pillars 6. Entire doors 7. Partial side skirt at the back 8. Partial rear bumper I know its overkill, but we will be keeping this car for a long long long time. Here are some pics of the car. You are unable to notice there is a film on it. http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/3461/p1010413w.jpg http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/8270/p1010412s.jpg I have applied a black line in the photo to show the transition from clear film to metal. http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/3062/p1010417f.jpg http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/8451/p1010416w.jpg |
