Stupid Question?
I have no plans to exceed 155MPH that I understand is the top end of a STOCK 370, but Since I’ve added a few mods and a tune, I’m assuming my top end should be higher, no?
So my question... is top end still throttled at 155MPH or does the tune negate that? |

If it’s tuned, more than likely it’s now limited by the gearing. IE redline in 6th gear, after factoring in your power to weight ratio.
In other words, you’re now mechanically speed limited instead of electronically. |

I’m going to have to call Z1 and ask. Not really important, I’m just curious. Also curious what happens to tune if battery goes bad or gets disconnected...

I’ve disconnected my battery many times since my tune, today included before doing my throttle position reset. |
Stock is limited to 155 mph by the ECU. Any tuner can raise it. Plus limited to about the same speed because of aero with the stock HP.

Assuming that you can overcome aerodynamic drag (which isn't always a good assumption to make) then top speed is just a math equation involving redline rpm (which is also tunable), sixth gear ratio and tire size
|
If anyone at home is keeping score, I called Z1 today and yes, they raised the governor to 200 MPH and the Rev limiter is 7800 RPM’s.
