REV limit

I have a 2011 370z auto 7 and I have the rev warning set at 7000 rpms.
I got on it - pressed the pedal down about half way and then to the floor and the rev light came on - seemed like it held there for a few seconds and then kicked into a higher gear - is this normal ? Any possible damage to engine ?

No damage bouncing off the rev limiter once in awhile.

Should be okay. If not, most of the people here are in big trouble. Otherwise, you’re just burning off the carbon buildup.

Engines are good for beyond their factory limiter. It's a safety net. Racing the engine accelerates expected wear, but if maintained well, high rpm's don't hurt anything.

LOL!

I bought my Z with like 4 miles on it. It now has slightly over 17k. It sees redline every single day I drive it. Just keep an eye on your oil level and everything will be just fine.

It's literally in the name, vq37HR (high revving). :driving:

Well according to the urban dictionary, VQ stands for "Virgin Queer", so... :supergay:

LOL

to be clear, its a VQ37VHR. Very High Revving. The later 350's had the HR.
