Missed Encounter - "Her JDM"

Hi Forum,

I'm looking for an enthusiast who has a PW 370Z with a plate that reads "Her JDM", a "Fairlady Z" trunk badge, and a Stillen plate rear frame.

To the Owner:
I hope this message finds you well. I ran into you briefly in a Ralph's parking lot at the Canyon Crest Towne Center in Riverside, CA around 11 PM as we pulled in at the same time. You had a passenger with you. Sorry we did not get a chance to talk and please excuse my quasi-curt behavior. If it were under any other circumstance, I would have loved to shake your hand and talk cars with you, but it literally took all my strength just to make it to the store, as I'm currently fighting this wicked, stubborn cold (or what I think is a cold...). I just wanted to make a beeline to replenish my Mucinex and Kleenex ultra softs :ugh2: And I couldn't bear the thought of passing on my cooties onto a fellow Z owner (but maybe if you were an R/T owner or something, I would've coughed on your door handle when you weren't looking). Just kidding  It was such a shame to miss out on an opportunity to talk in-person with another Z owner, as I don't run into many 370Zs around here. But I was really glad to see one in such great shape and condition going down Canyon Crest and pulling into the plaza - definitely made my night :driving:. Anyway, I hope you're on this Forum and see this.

If anyone knows this person, it would be great if you could pass this along - but I mean, don't go out of your way to do it or anything :) Thanks for taking the time to read this post :tiphat: It's great to be a part of a forum such as this and I hope to run into more Z owners in the future...just you know, as long as I'm not dying or anything

Respectfully,
James

Instagram is gonna be your best bet buddy - as in, searching every Z car club IG page in Riverside and any tagged IG photos where you could find that pearl white Z. It sounds impossible but if you really look hard, you’ll find that IG handle of hers since most Z owners have Instagram from my experience.

Damn, I feel old ............ for this 70 year old guy doesn't do FaceBook, Instagram, or whatever else you youngins are using out there! (Yeah, I do the cell phone thing, but only to call the police on a drunk driver, but more often because I forgot the 3rd thing my Bride wanted me to get at the grocery store.)

Just know that I feel the same way about being courteous and helpful to those in Z land, but there are very few 370z's in my neck of the woods.

That Z owner has to be smoking HOT to even be posting something like this, much less combing through the internet!

His lone post too. He literally made an account for this.

Must be some girl.

I mean at most they just looked at each other. I don't even think he saw her outside of her car. What in the world.

Thanks for the input - that's a good point, actually. To be honest, I don't really use social media too often. I have a Facebook, but not very active on that platform. Definitely don't have an IG - but CarbonFiberElement did use one of my photos on their page, so that as kinda cool:icon17: I spend way more time lurking the370z, which is probably why I thought to look here first. Still, I should've thought of that firsthand. I do intend to look passively if I have some down-time. Was just hoping the owner had a profile here. Thanks all the same!

I see that you're a former teacher - that's awesome! I work in education as well, and while I may be far from cashing in on my retirement, I can't keep up with all the social media options out there either! With where I'm at in life, I'm more invested in chasing after my career than anything else, like internet clout (not that that's a bad thing LOL). But this way, hopefully by the time I'm 70 - I can actually retire, do the cell phone thing, and grocery shop with a nice sports car :driving:

LOL! After reviewing my post, I can see why you would think that. But actually, I was coming from a different perspective: Sometimes I would have the misfortune of running into enthusiasts (either on the road or in person) who were unapproachable or too haught for comfort. So I know what it's like to being on the receiving end of that - not too pleasant. Just wanted to clear up that potential misunderstanding with a fellow Z owner. But I think we can all agree that combing through the interwebs might be a little too excessive haha.

I hope that if/when my better half comes across this, that there will be a large bath towel within arm's reach so I can quickly tie a make-shift cape around her.

Actually, I made an account a couple of years ago but sort of failed to introduce myself (my bad). I think V6P was the first car forum I ever lurked and that was probably around 2010. A couple of years later, I took interest in the G35 so I was lurking the G35Driver forums and reading/learning all I could about that platform. But then these random threads about potato or poker chips would all of a sudden pop up out of nowhere, reminding me that I was a broke and slightly over-weight college student so I thought it'd be best to take a break from such bad influences for a while :rofl2: In 2015, I was reading the My350Z forums because I was interested in a Nismo 350, but they always kept getting snatched up right before I was ready to pull the trigger. One thing led to another and I was fortunate enough to end up on this Forum with my 370 :driving:

--------

Also, my apologies. I guess with the way this thread progressed, there are some blanks I should fill in for clarification. I guess I wasn't thinking straight when I initially posted, but here goes. Please bear with me:

We both parked and got out of our cars at the same time. We all saw each other for a brief until I punked out and made a run for it into the store because it was like half-raining and "cold" (I know, I know, it's California...).

The driver was male, with his passenger female, so based on the plate - I assume it belongs to her  (not to be sexist or anything)

Yes, the passenger (owner?) was very pretty. No, obviously I have no chance as I assume the driver was her significant other and I am happily whipped by my better half :ughdance:

Thanks for all your input, everyone. Hope you all had a great Superbowl weekend.

So the driver was a dude? Ok, Ill bite. Was the dude HOT? lol...Just kidding. Thnx for the explanation.

Yeah, I see a small handful of Z's in my area (alot in Arizona), even more scarce is the Roadster. Dont really interact, other than a thumbs up, or a little chat at a stoplight. TBH, Ive spoken to more people that didnt drive a Z than those who did (the rarity thing)
