LMK if anyone needs me to bring anything specific (tool’s,tires,parts,etc...) I’ll be in the Camry & don’t mind helping someone out with some wrenching if needed
Would be cool to load up a 30# cylinder of 134,gauges & scales...in case someone needs A/C charged up..........may even be able to round up a vacuum pump.
Just no room to load up a Robinair :ugh2:

jchammond 05-07-2019 05:22 AM

I’m planning to bring a few rubbers; if anyone is interested :ugh2:
They’re all black :icon17:

Leingod 05-07-2019 06:37 AM

There are plenty of people that will take you for a ride  :driving:

Last year I made my car reservation at the last minute (like literally 11 hours before I arrived in ATL). Hertz gave me a Dodge Challenger with a Hemi for the price of an Altima. It was a boat in the curves :rofl2:

JARblue 05-07-2019 08:33 AM

This year I noticed Hertz has an option for a C63 AMG. Using some points and a discount code it looks like I could get it for close to $100 per day :D

Too bad it is still looking like I won't make it this year :( :(

One problem for me may be not actually knowing who is who from this forum as I’ve never really met anyone here in person...

Anyhow, here is a fairly recent picture of me so you guys can recognize me if you see me...

No. My front is already chipped up from doing track days. When we get there. I'll wash it.

A lot of people use the painter tape.

Always wondered that myself. Thought it was a dice roll at best that it didn't cause more harm than what damage you may or may not get along the way. To me, a rock chip or 2 is much better than peeling clear coat off. Plus, like Rusty said, mine already has a couple of chips, but meh...I basically DD it, so it's a part of life.

ColtronZ 05-08-2019 10:57 AM

Yeah I DD mine and have a few but wasn't sure it would be worth the effort.

honestly the clear coat issue is rare or maybe ive havent seen/heard a lot of them but i witnessed it on his first hand.

my guess as to why; we drove 8 hours in pouring rain which soaked the tape followed by post-arrival 85 degree sun baking that wet tape for half a day. next morning taking the tape off we saw the damage.

so again, it's probably a rare occurrence. i will say i did it once to get my car tuned in MD only a 4-4.5 hour drive and the time to tape the car not worth it in my mind lol

Yeah the weather should be nice.

I’m starting to get my stuff together for this trip. If I remember correctly, doesn’t the Fontanna have a swimming pool?

I may just bring my bathing suit in case it gets hot and I want to take a quick cool down dip.

No that one’s certainly mine.

As I’m a bit modest, I hesitated to even post my picture but I just dont want us all to show in the same suit. That would be ah... well lets just say it would be somewhat awkward... :icon14:
