Interior Renovation UPDATE

Completed main dash swap and all sueded interior parts. Next will be replacing door panes and center console with Nismo pieces to have the red stitching as a contrast. Next project is to finalize design on trunk project. Then integrate an iPad into the dash! New Braum RacIng seats ship this week!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4b280bec74.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a8f5e93c14.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2bd43ff171.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5b7f49e312.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a9169d2a91.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ef8d475d66.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dbcfb16e5c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...933965c652.jpg

Looks very unique I really like this very nice! I also can’t wait to see it when it is done.

Wow looks great! Good work. What's the material, where did you get it, How hard is it to work with?

Chris David 01-14-2019 08:36 AM

Its called UltraSuede from a fabric store. $65/yard.
I probably have $750 in fabric and over 100 hours of time...but it looks just like many high end cars. Thanks for all the comments!

Well deserved, I'm kinda interested in doing this too as a number of panels are pretty scuffed up over the years.

Chris David 01-14-2019 08:46 AM

Thats really what the deciding factor was. We bought the car and it was sooo beat up.. almost every damn panel *. So I stripped the car to the frame and started over Its totally worth it. Seeing those bars powder coated is exciting. Its a great contrast. Now my Braum Racing seats will ship this week, had to replace the entire main dash, and will be adding door panels, center console pieces, and knee guard pads off of a Nismo edition as all come with Red Stitching which will tie it all together. Oh and an iPad in the dash!! :)

i dotn think pics do it justice because of all the different direction suede is laying, maybe you could comb it or something and take a pic.

Jayhovah 01-14-2019 10:45 AM

Man... that is a ton of suede. I'm not a big fan of the material as I don't enjoy the 'fingerprints on purpose' look or durability of it... but hot damn if you didn't do an ultra professional looking upholstery job! Mad propz, as the kids said when I was a kid.

That looks great. I'd really like to do it to mine as well, but I have exactly zero experience with stuff like this.

I assume there were some modifications to the panels due the small gaps and thickness of the material?

goeagles11 01-14-2019 02:49 PM

Looks great - I think the steering wheel definitely needs to be wrapped in suede/alcantara as well to round off the look.

Chris David 01-14-2019 02:55 PM

Replacing wheelhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...47b2dc04e9.jpg with one of these as fast as I can lol

Ya with some of the panels you will have no choice but to place some seams. Hidden for the most part.
