What's this about? I'm not super familiar with R8's.

Airwalk,

Sorry to see you leave "the Z family", but I understand where you are coming from. I salivate over many supercars as well.

Just as a heads up, are you familiar with the videos of the salvage R8 that had suspension damage which totalled the car? Google search "Samrac R8" as he fixed the problem cheaply and had a source for shock replacements that didn't break the bank.

Good Luck with your new ride!

Enjoy, would love to own an R8 but out of my price range in the UK.

I’ve been following his rebuild and honestly, I’m not really confident that his welds will hold up in the long run. There is a lot more involved with aluminum structural welding. There is a good reason that the car was scrapped in the first place. Just my 2 cents.

I too invested in some new performance machinery this summer with a 2017 Grand Sport Corvette. I absoultly love this car got a good price considering the original sticker but I'm still keeping my Blue 2009 370Z, its just too fun to drive Its going to get harder to find good clean ones. I have a friend with blue R8 and its nice enjoy

Your referring to the GTR right?

Or you ditched it too for an Audi.?

The R8 is nice especially with a manual transmission. Congrat.

[QUOTE=Airwalk;3802595]I bought my red haired Nismo Z in 2013. I honestly have to say this has been the best car that I ever owned. At almost six years I still get looks and talks from admirers at gas stations and car washes. I mildly tuned her and felt every tune. I had big plans for her and I had a dream car which is The Audi R8. I found a black on black R8 with 20K miles, one owner and garage kept. Clean car fax all maintainence documentation and perfect body. I’m not rich by any means, but I was saving to boost my Z’s performance and had an chance to test drive the car. I fell in love and after getting what I wanted in terms of price we sealed the deal. I’ve had fun on this site and even did a few cars and coffee. I will still be on the site because I love the Z but just wanted to share my story because you guys shared so much that gave me ideas and knowledge (steering wheel lock) on my car. Thanks.
