Upon further review...

Yes... for the money it is hard not to consider Z as a purchase. I too noticed increased road noise over other vehicles I have driven. Either you're ok with it or not. The question is, can you live with it? And will it be your daily driver?

He's paying a compliment and pointing out something that is noticeable guys.

nicknick... this ain't youtube... relax. You're giving us a bad rep with that bolony.

There's enough animosity on the internet ya know? Why add to it here too.

Even if some dont want to believe it, the Z does have alot of NVH, its just a matter of what your coming from in your last car. That being said, you either live with it or not buy the car. Its a sports car that is loud to some, not too loud to others, but believe me there are sports cars out there that are quieter that do just as good in performance but the usually cost a little more. Like someone said they cut in areas to get the car to its level of performance as this is what they thought the people would want. I just step on the gas to hear the exhaust more or turn up the music and go zoom zoom.

I've found that the 370Z with the Sport Package makes significantly
more noise than cars without it (the SP includes lower profile tires &
larger wheels- 19"x9" & 19"x10" instead of 18"x8" & 18"x9"). More
road noise is to be expected since the wheels are physically closer
to the road.

The noise isn't bad at all. I like the sound. But if it's not your cup of tea..get a new exhaust and listen to that

With 18ers and a cbe, it's not road noise, it's music.

I dunno about the fuss. This qualifies as my first sports car and so I'm used to pretty quiet cars. This car isn't offensive at all. The way one piece of gravel resonates gets my attention more than the persistent road/engine noise-I sit there waiting for it to eject. Kinda entertaining though, loved pinball growing up... Kiss, Black Knight... But I digress...

Agreed, get a luxo g for a different driving experience. That's what it's there for.

If you don't want to hear the engine and don't like feeling the road, do us all a favor and wander over to the Lexus forum where everybody raves about how it's so quiet it's like their *** is riding on clouds.

First post and hit the nail on the head, kudos to you, +1.

Like the others said, you dont like it, turn the damn music up.

370Z_Fan 12-30-2009 08:42 PM

I wonder if other people complain about the noise in the Viper or Corvette?

Lol that is funny coming from a Mustang owner :) These guys aren't being very helpful to the OP. I had a simple fix for the road noise - Stillen CAI/CBE/HFC - you can hardly hear any road noise now ;P

Who would want a quiet sports car to begin with? That doesn't make sense. Is this the new generation of enthusiasts i.e. the under 30/40 crowd who are looking for quiet? Stop dissecting the Z for every little flaw, real or perceived, that this car has. It's a fantastic sports car for the price. I'm over 50 and remember the '60's muscle cars. Didn't want quiet then nor now. Slide a Led Zepplin tune into the music box, crank it up and go motoring!
