Waiting on AAM mid-pipe

I ordered an AAM Competition mid-pipe for my 370z nismo on the 3rd of July and it still has not shipped. I know they are busy this time of year, however I've been told during three seperate phone conversations that the mid-pipe was going to ship within the next couple of days. Everyone I have spoken to have been very polite and I felt they were trying to be helpful.

My first call was at the end of the first week to see if they could provide an estimated shipping date. That was the waiting for the boxes call. That led me to believe that it would be shipped out within a day or so. After a few days of not receiving the shipping info I called to get the tracking number. Again I was told it would go out within the next couple of days, "they have been very busy". A few days later, another call for tracking info and now a problem with a pipe bender, "maybe the end of this week, maybe next week". Not sure what the real issue is but it would have been greatly appreciated if they were upfront with me if the build time was going to be more then 10 days.

Has anyone had any difficulty receiving items ordered from AAM given the seven to ten day build time prior to shipping? Not sure what to expect going forward.

Lots of people have had trouble getting parts quickly from them lately. It seems like a pretty poorly managed shop, guessing they're having internal issues.

Overall my experiences with AAM Competition was always a good one and they are excellent quality products. You should try calling them it is possible they ran out of stock of the AAM midpipe and they need to make more.

I’ve discovered that you should only order what they have in stock. Anything they do not have and need to make, should be avoided. When I ordered my AAM S-Line Axleback, I called them to ask whether they had it in stock. Luckily, they did and shipped it out the same day. It’s hit or miss with them these days, unfortunately.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Never thought about asking if the midpipe was in stock, I thought they had to build everything you ordered. Oh well, I'll give it another week and hope for the best.

:iagree: However, their "poorly managed shop" doesn't start there, it starts from the Top!!!! :twocents:

My mid-pipe is on its way, just received an email with the tracking number. I am looking forward to putting it on my 370z, hoping for a slight change in tone and volume.

I’m curious to your opinion of the fitment and quality after you get it installed. I’m considering one as well along with the Garageline midpipe.

The quality and fitment are spot on. You have to wait a bit and the cost is higher the other systems or components however, the exhaust system is of vey good quality. I have both the midpipe and the s-line competition muffler, catback system. Just the right volume and tone without any drone. If you are looking for more volume they also offer short tail exhaust both resonated an non-resonated. I am very pleased with the final results after the longer then expected wait.
