Oh, and no state income tax.

But it gets stupid humid and hot here during our 8 months of jungle-like summer, so I guess it evens out...

Is this the basic cost of taxing to allow a vehicle on the road?

If so its just gone up to £520 road tax per annum for a Z in the UK.

Combined with £1.20 a litre for petrol is why most people drive "sensible" cars.

Your right I previously owned a Vauxhall VXR8 which is a rebadged Holden. Had a Corvette 6.2L engine. Fuel consumption made my eyes water/cry.

We have no state tax but cost of living is higher here compared to other states.

I have a specialty plate on my Z and came to $75 and my other car with regular plates came to $35.

Fuzzzy 04-08-2018 12:32 PM

$328.

More than the property taxes on my home. Go figure. Gub'ment gonna get their money one way or another.

$25 + property tax (my property tax was about $300 last year for house, land, car, etc; not sure how much of that was for car but it can't be much). Add another $35 for personalized plates.

old guy 04-08-2018 07:34 PM

Damyn,
Prices go from cheap to expensive!

Raeshlavik 04-08-2018 07:55 PM

570.81 for year two. Year one was around $900.

That is what keeps me from moving to another state.

enkei2k 04-08-2018 08:04 PM

$130 every 2 years for registration renewal
$37 every year for safety/emissions inspection

Ca= $267.00

Zthirty4NISMO 04-09-2018 06:40 PM

Just moved back to South Dakota and paid $147 for the Z (including $30 for rear only license plate option) and $90 for my dd. Coming from Minnesota this is hilariously cheaper. The Z alone would have ran me $244 this year. It did go down every year but I remember the first year I registered it there I paid just over $400. I believe they base it on vehicle value.

The taxes are higher in states with higher unemployment; makes sense, gotta pay for people that don't work.

You (and your fellow Michiganites) elect the people who set the tax rates. :)

It helps that my city only spends about $100/yr on snow removal. :p

envisous 04-10-2018 12:39 AM

$267/year+ Vanity plate at $100 year = $367
