simple and cheap headlight mod.
I switched out the daylight running lights with LEDs, looks a bit more bluish / white. I like it here are the comparison between OEM and the LED.
OEM http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/.../photo10-1.jpg http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/.../photo11-1.jpg http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/.../photo12-1.jpg Driver Side Switched http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/.../photo13-1.jpg http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/.../photo14-1.jpg Both Side http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo15.jpghttp://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo16.jpg http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/...80/photo17.jpg Sorry for the crappy iphone pics. It took about literally 10 min max to do this project. And I personally think the whole car flows well now since I also did the license plate LED |
looks good jake
what leds did you use (part numbers/brand)? |
|
Awesome, definitely gunna order these, +1.
To do the license plate also, you need to order two sets I'm guessing? |
^ I think for plate lights its a different type of bulbs. Check under DIY for AK's DIY for plate lights.

Cool, thanks Jake

Daylight running lights? :icon08: :wtf:
|
no problem. be sure to pm me for a 10% coupon code too. It saves on shipping :D or tax if you get tax like stupid California here. btw I personally find this mod to be very economical. $14.99 for the front, I think the back is $10 bucks. so in total just around $30 USD to get rid of all the yellow looking lights around the car to match the front Xenon

lol killerbee, your Z is too famous to be missing things. But yeah, I see a lot of audi / benz / porsches running around town during broad daylight with their hyper LED lights and I thought to myself "what the fxxk retard" which is funny because today when I gave a 350Z the thumbs up while driving by he flipped me off. Nice to know the 350Z community hates us.

I've had pia LEDs last me almost 4 years. Sometimes cheap LEDs burn out when used in headlights.
|
I've had the back plate LEDs now for about 2 months they're still running fine so I'll take my chances on those and if they go out, it's only 14 dollars to replace them lol

Looks good Jake

Does make you wonder why Nissan dont offer this as stock? Seen one modified 370z in the UK and it would appear that it had moddied daytime driving lights aswell! It looks so much crisper and cleaner. Well done
|
Hard to believe it was done in about 10 minutes. We need a complete narrated DIY video with circles and arrows. ;)
PS: Looks good, though ! |

Meet Details Also, thanks for posting pics, I was thinking of doing the same thing with the VLED's. Looks good. There is another bulb right next to it they refer to as the side marker in the manual. Are you going to change that too? I was thining about doing these on the turn signal to get rid of the amber egg yoke look when they are off (stock bulb is orange and reflects on the housing):Type 2 dual color. Not sure if they will work though. I think ours is listed as a 7444W. Not sure if the mounting area is the same as the ones listed. Anyone know? |
Thank you for the discount code Jake.
|
Thanks Jake for the code. I just installed the lights today and they looked great!
