Whats the best price???

Right not I am negotiating with a California dealership for a sport/touring, yellow, AT, illum plates, floor mats, trunk mat. The best price I have got is about $2900 off or about $300 over invoice. I contacted every dealership in Southern California (internet sales). Most were selling MSRP but a few gave good prices. I think I am going to go with that price. By the way that will be a special order car and the price stays. Some dealerships do not charge $500 extra for yellow. this one does not...so more savings there.. Any thoughts??

Invoice + $300 on a car released a week ago? Do it.

I paid sticker, seems like a really good deal right now. I suspect some people that were waiting for the Camaro will start cross shopping the Z since Camaro production was delayed.

I ordered same exact car as you & I'm paying $500 for the paint.
Count yourself real lucky here & grab this car before someone else does!

I'm going to see if my local dealership will match the price. Either was, after sleeping on it, I am going to get it. I am looking forward to posting my review and comparing it with the 335. thanks again for all the input. I would love to hear any other good deals out there so that we can all pay the lowest price possible.

I'm in the Los Angeles area and shopping for the best local price. I would appreciate it if anyone would pass along a recommendation of where to buy. I would be pleased to find the deal that John370Z found.
You can send any suggestions directly to my email: RichSherer@aol.com
Thank you.

I would do it. I just purchased one today for $400 over invoice. I had many dealers say they wouldn't even match that - which is interesting because they would rather not sell a car and make $0 vs sell a car and make $400.

I hate greedy dealerships like that. And I'm sure they made more than $400 from your sale, there's no way they paid the invoice prices as a dealership.

I'm sure in a day or two, some of those dealerships will give you a call to come in and 'talk things over' again, this is when you can stop by in your 370z and say 'thanks, but no thanks' in person. :D

At least $400. You buy the warranty, that's at least a grand in their pocket. Buy gap, probably another $500. Paint protection, Lojack, leather conditioning, the list goes on.
Then how about regular service over the life of the vehicle, things like oil/filter changes, brake changes and so on. It may seem like they only make $400, but it's quite more.

speedworks 01-10-2009 04:41 PM

Sure but its only 400 for now. Service is another story. I do most of my own work.

Even if a dealer sells at invoice, they're still making a profit.
