:iagree: You are correct. In fact, I believe that any GPS jammer, no matter what its signal strength is, is illegal.

I doubt it - that's not what GPS is used for. GPS determines your location, your odometer tracks miles driven.

Now, there certainly could be a movement to install GPS on all cars for other "Big Brother"-ish reasons, but you wouldn't do that to track the number of miles driven.

lol they will track you carbon footprint to help combat clobal warming... even though it snowing at teh global climate change summit... what a joke... just like the lady that was driving a hybrid gmc on campus here at WVU with a sticker that said suv's are evil on the back glass... i guess hybrid suv's arent suvs at all?

Yea... I'm pretty sure someone stealing a car with GPS tracking (not LoJack but pretty much every one of their competators) doesn't really care about Federal law.... the whole point of this exercise is to point out how easily a lot of security systems can be breached.

Two things:

1) LoJack does not work with GPS signals.

2) This device is a worthless POS just like the so-called "radar jammers".

While GPS jammers have been created (specifically by the government, military organizations and spy or privacy gadget companies), most civilians do not have the technical capabilities to create their own home made device. It is much more difficult than just blocking a radio signal with basic radio interference.
Most GPS Jammers are built for military uses, for instance, to confuse the enemy on where their exact location is or where the enemies GPS guided missiles or bombs will fall. However, there are a few civilian uses for jamming GPS signals including the ability to conceal oneself or one's vehicle in the case that it is being tracked by a GPS receiver.
It should be noted that most GPS jammers are illegal to build or use in many countries or localities due to the potential for misuse. For instance, a GPS jammer can confuse aircraft and other vehicle instruments, possibly causing mishaps. Some GPS jammers state that they are only for civilian GPS jamming only; however some military equipment, must first sign onto the civilian GPS radio frequencyhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif in order to gain access to the military GPS frequency.

good point,GPS JAMMER is illegal in some areas as I know, but it is legal here in my country.
