Nice knowing you all!

I got a call from my dealer buddy about a deal I couldn't refuse. 2010 911 Carrera. 13.5K miles. Selling for $3k less than NADA Clean Trade In. Now let's just hope it's not a lemon and he didn't know what he had on his lot!

Nice Z

triso07 08-09-2017 06:38 AM

I'm looking for one too hoping to get in at the bottom of the value curve.

Good luck. Post a review up with some differences between this and the Z.

Spooler 08-09-2017 07:04 AM

Did you have the IMS bearing double checked?

barncobob 08-09-2017 08:01 AM

I went the other way, sold my 06C4 cab for a 16 Z
i enjoy the Z as much as the P,,,got tired of getting raped at the dealer, independent mechanics arent any cheaper

P fixed the IMS years ago, not to worry.

barncobob 08-09-2017 08:09 AM

best forum is 6 speedonline, lots of good folks there too.

danegrey 08-09-2017 08:42 AM

I think every Z owner secretly wishes they had a Porsche.

Perhaps. However, I'm sure the majority is just fine not being associated with the silly costs of maintaining one vs 370z.

phljeeper 08-09-2017 10:24 AM

Very nice looking P car. I sold my 04 Carrera about a year ago and miss it but the Z is almost as fun to drive without the massive maintenance bill at every dealer visit.

barncobob 08-09-2017 11:59 AM

been there (86, 2000, 2006) done that, repairs are gaggy..

ending 2nd year od Z 3 year warranty, ZERO problems..

RumbleFish 08-09-2017 12:19 PM

No shame in upping your game. Congrats.

jliu 08-09-2017 01:04 PM

I am actually going in the other direction. Keeping my 14 Z and selling my 2013 Boxster S. It is not right or wrong for me. Just don't "need" two fun cars.

Spoiler 08-09-2017 01:08 PM

Nice lookng car... but how many cupholders does that thing have?

God-Speed 08-09-2017 01:23 PM

Z or Boxster more fun to drive/own?

06-up has a larger, more robust IMS. No worries here

/Angelo350Z/ 08-10-2017 04:08 PM

Sweet ride. Congrats OP!

Absolutely not. I've been a tech for German and japanese, I'll take my Japanese reliability and costs any day of week. More time enjoying and less time fixing, with that said Porsche are supposed to be much more reliable than other German brands.

BoneZ 08-13-2017 10:32 AM

Beautiful machine...

I would say the Boxster feels a bit more "lively". The Boxster is more effortless to handle whereas the Z requires more work. Overall, the Boxster is more comfortable without sacrificing performance.

I've had my car confused for a Porsche a few times. Until they see the badge then it's usually "Nissan makes a car this good looking?".
