Time to move on from the Z...

Really enjoyed my 2010 and 2013 370Z Roadsters, but after seven years it was time to move on. I've bounced back and forth between Zs and Vettes over the years, and after saving for a while, it was time to hop back to the "other" side. :D

Being a nut for blue/silver/gunmetal shades, I almost went nuts when GM unveiled the Grand Sport Collectors Edition with the Watkins Glen Gray/Tension Blue color scheme last fall. I was lucky enough to find one still available with a manual this late in the model year. Drove down to Atlanta last week to make the trade and bring this guy home:

Anyways...I've lurked here a lot more than I've posted over the years, but got a lot of good, helpful info here! Kinda been a shame to see Nissan continue to stand pat on the Z all this time. Hopefully they'll give it some fresh attention someday, and not let it die on the vine! (and here's hoping that any new one still comes with a manual trans, too  )

Oh...and if anyone has been scouring the Interwebs for a well-kept, low-mileage, Gun Metallic 370Z Roadster (Touring + Sport)...you might want to look up the used car inventory @ Hendrick Chevrolet in Duluth, GA. ;)

Congrats & enjoy!

Ever since the C7 came out, I thought everything about it was nice except for the rear. I always thought the back end was hideous. I guess I was just used to Vettes having round tail lights.

Over the past couple of years though, I've grown to like the back end, and it actually goes well with the rest of the car. I never thought these words would ever come out of my mouth, but I certainly wouldn't mind owning a new Vette.

With that said, the blue touches don't do it for me. Sorry. I just like the more reserved look better myself.

Good luck with your new C7, and I'm glad you bought a manual! That's the ONLY way to have a sports car.

BboyZ 07-07-2017 08:13 PM

Nice, I like the exterior color scheme, but not in interior. :)
Congrats and Enjoy.

break up with a hot girl, then end up with a hotter one. Congrats!

Lvcky69 07-07-2017 11:46 PM

the vette was on my list when i bought my '17 370z..i went and got the 370z because it is a v6, parts are cheaper to mod and there was no manual stingray at that time..there was a '13 viper gts that caught my eyes for $79k with 4k miles and it was already sold..a viper will be my next car for sure

Ventruck 07-08-2017 12:02 AM

I want a C7 myself. If money comes together and I really do want a faster car, I'd be buying (well, financing) a C7 before investing too much into the Z. Congrats man. Enjoy the faster life.

God-Speed 07-08-2017 07:29 AM

Don't blame you. The collectors edition is very nice, especially in person. Enjoy the new ride and don't look back!!!

Beautiful car! Funny, at over twice the price, I still see more C7 in town than I do Z's. And C6's everywhere. That is part of the reason I went with the Z.

Beautiful Grand Sport! I went the same way (Z to GS) back in December - you're going to love that thing!

I hear ya...I was the same way at first! Seeing the taillights in person makes all the difference in the world, too. For whatever reason, they look a lot nicer in person than they do in photos.

Hehe...I get that the blue won't be for everyone. I'm a nut for blue to start with, and one of my goals when thinking of my next car was to spice up the interior a bit. Save for a two-tone "frost" interior in a 350Z years ago, I've almost always had single-tone grey or black interiors. Given those two facts, the first time I saw this interior, I almost needed a towel and a cigarette. :icon17:

Here in the Charlotte Area, Seems like it's closer to 50/50 between the Vette and Z owners. Don't see a whole lot of Z Roadsters like I had, but see quite a few Z Coupes on the road around here.

Beautiful, I hope to get a Grand Sport or Z06 next if I can swing it

danegrey 07-10-2017 09:42 AM

all I can say its NICE....
thou if I got a vette, (thought about it)
the Z would stay....

sp911 07-10-2017 11:14 AM

dang, that blue hurts my eyes! nice! enjoy.

Jayhovah 07-10-2017 11:20 AM

gorgeous car... I think they went slightly overboard with the interior accents and now it looks like a 17 year old ricer from 1997 got hold of it. Coco Chanel.

madwi 07-11-2017 09:02 AM

Very bold seats. I like the blue stripes with the grey paint. Congrats, looks like a fun drive.

370deep 07-11-2017 09:44 AM

DakineZ 07-16-2017 07:56 AM

Damnn nice ride bro and congrats. I don't plan on upgrading for awhile but if I did I would probably do the same. :driving:
