I've purchased from z1 a few times before, and I will not do business with them again. They have a 20% yes 20% restocking fee. That is outrageous. They're profiting off returns. Profit from selling the item and profit from you giving back your unused item for them to resell. To put into perspective returning a $600 CAI would cost you $120! Not to mention all these dangerous life threatening problems with their camber arms (snapping, bolt coming out, etc)that they supposedly have thousands of track testing hours. No z1 all you did as far as testing was just checking that they fit.
Just a bunch of country yokels with no real engineering experience. (I am a country yokel and was raised one, I can say that) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Think about it this way, would you rather get some money back rather than no money? Obviously, they can't sell the returned parts as new. As for their camber arms, it could have been a bad batch. I wouldn't go to say that they just fit parts and sell them. Russell, Jon, Russ all track their cars. To the OP, I would talk to Jon or Russ personally and say you want this resolved. They will listen. Yes, I have had issues in the past, but they have always came through. |
Ouch... I have felt that way about talking on the phone with them also. I feel that they want to get you off the phone as quickly as they can. +1 for Joe @ Zspeed. Always answered my questions and the southbend drag clutch he sent me was amazing. I'll either shop with him or Sebastian @ Specialty Z.

I don't have issues with Z1. The prices are fair. Not cheap, nor expensive, and they communicate. There are cases where things fall through the cracks, but I think it's retarded that y'all are bashing pricing when it's pretty consistent (a couple exceptions). It isn't Amazon, and we don't own a domestic car or a Honda.

I NEVER was stirred wrong at all. They've been consistent and transparent with me since 2011. When I was on the west coast, Jon and I would go back and forth between datalogs to get the mapping straightened out. Personally, I would give them a chance to make things right. I'm sure their phone including Jon's/Russ's are always non-stop. |
I think their prices are reasonable, and it's a pretty convenient 1stop shop. It's their communication/support that for me has gone down hill. Still waiting on some sort of a response since they started looking into my issue on 7/18/17.

All right guys lest not jump the shark as thats not why this was started.
It was created to bringing attention to Z1's seemingly lack of response and not meant as away to start complaining about other things. I did reach out to them when I last commented, And I see they reached out to look into it. Although I have no idea why it would take so long for a response, But at least there's some action. Quote:

After reading this thread. I will not be a Z1 customer. I am sorry for your problems but it seems all to common these days. People just don't give a damn anymore.
On a brighter note I just recently purchased some items form CZP and had one of my best shopping experiences in years. |

works well for now but i'm gonna use a brand name clutch and pressure plate next time |
I just want to update everyone, I just today spoke with John@Z1. He understands my issues and we acknowledge nothing can be done about the past order issues at this point. But he assured me that there is now a note on my last order regarding all these issue and they will do something for my next future order. Which for me won't likely be till early next year but it will all be suspension related. (Hotchkis Sway Bars, End links, and some sort of coilover).

While it is easier to "talk" between texts and emails, I have found it best to have a one-on-one conversation to resolve any issues. This does allow the conversationalists to gauge, or feel each other out, which can't be done electronically.
Let's hope these issues get resolved to everyone's satisfaction... |
I called z1 for the first time the other day and Spencer was excellent with helping me out. 1st Class. Spent a while on the phone and not once did I feel like he was trying to get me off.

The customer service that we received from Z1 Motorsports was piss poor. We had parts missing from orders. Over the phone they talked to us like they could careless about us or our business. There are a lot of different vendors to give your business to it is your choice.
|
In all my years of being in the G35, 350Z, 370Z platforms, I've never had a problem with Z1 Motorsports and they have never failed to inform me on issues and always deliver what I purchase.
Everyone else who sells parts is usually a hit and miss and now I will only order through those companies if Z1 doesn't have it. |
