Intakes on Nismo 2009+
Guys why do I see most Nismo models with short intakes like takeda ?
I had an 09 and 11 Sport touring and both had Stillen long tubes. |
Probably looks or lack of understanding on how its not as efficient as long tube

Long tube intakes, either Stillen G3 or Z1, are the best intakes to use.

I think you guys misunderstood my post and question.
I've had a 2009 370Z with Stillen G3 and 2011 with the same set up. Just like before we had to cut and make modifications to even get those tubes to fit. I just noticed a lot of the 370ZTUNE Nismo models have shorter intakes. After I sold my 2011 370Z I am looking to purchase a Nismo and it already has takeda intakes on it. I was merely wondering if it was more difficult to install on a Nismo. I know the long tube intakes are more efficient and better overall. After all I've had them twice before. |
No more difficult on a nismo. All the same

No difference on installing the 3G on any Z. All the same.
|
i can attest to that as well, no difference on the nismo.

It doesn't pay to even start at your intakes. Get a good exhaust and HFC/Test pipe first. Get your power gains from there first. You only get the most gains from the first initial breather Mod. Then save some cash and get k&n filers n silicone hoses.
Doing something like a G3 intake makes no sense unless you're also going to do headers & port polish. At that point you can see big gains from doing both front and back. But if your idea of modding is Just intake and exhaust? Pipe the azz all the way deep first. |
