Friend of mine drove home from Tampa, Fl. Car quite charging halfway through the trip. Well, no lights for him the rest of the way home. He made it. I got in the next day and he told me what happened. I tapped on it with a hammer and it started charging again. Hell, he taught me that trick. Not sure what he was thinking. LOL Went and got a new alternator anyway. It was my old car and I had bought a lifetime warranty alternator. This was alternator #3 for that 1978 280z. LOL

Brand new battery. Recent test showed 640 cold cranking amps. Should be more than enough. For peace of mind, awhile back I threw in another battery that was working fine in another car. No dice.

Not sure why but my right rear is wearing faster than my left... maybe tire pressure? Need to check that on the weekend when car is cold.
Well the right is at the bar, left a tad above bars. Hoping tires are in this week so i can light up my olds |

Get the toe angle and pressure checked. Usually toe will kill your tires (cause uneven wear) before camber. I'm running -2.7 deg all around and my wear is even.

Seems like Z1 has discovered the joys of just-in-time inventory, minus the just-in-time part.

Next year i am probably going to look at getting the hd csc and whiteline diff bushings installed depending on budget... I love the FI exhaust. Once warmed up its sooo good. Neutral wont do it. But down shifting or while in gear hitting 3k rpm and pulling off the gas i get a nice byop sound. Not as burbly as the bimmers or turbos but it doesnt seem forced. Byop. Just the tip. |
