Finally installed the intakes I've had sitting around for weeks because of the heat. The newer AEM ones. Unfortunately I didn't realize they sent me two of the same tops for the heat shields until halfway through installation, so it's unfinished for now :/ They sent one out to me without any hassle, good customer service.

Quick review, def power increase (not huge, but noticeable), even after hooning around town after install the intake tubes were warm but not hot like metal would be. Good response, but no different than stock from what I can tell. Uses the factory intake routing.

But the sound. Oh god yes. Under throttle at mid-rpms it's a nice growl, then at the upper rpm's it just howls. That's mainly why I bought it tbh, but it surprised me how much louder it is.

Physically i am good, mentally pretty damn short fuse.

I am fortunate those rays are strong and took the brunt of the kinetic energy. Deep down i knew it was a writeoff. Had that slight hope but after that damage i dont know if i could be 100% confident.

:iagree: Hopefully you'll get it sorted with the insurance companies quickly and get back on the road in another beauty.

Have one of those as well, it's quite an atheletic pig.

How you like it? I wanted one for a long time, and found this one 2011 with
50K super clean. Now is time to let the Xterra go.

Sorry for your loss. Time to get another one. Get all the parts off before it goes away.

She is sitting on the driveway taking the day off today. Taking the Camry to work today as it has been sitting in the garage all week.
