She is gonna try one more time and told her if no luck, I am ok w doing half circle around the letters so they are completely exposed in gray outside the overlay and the overlay in black covers everything else as Simoltas did.

I've considered buying a whole new cluster (the 2015+ ones have a black gauge face). Simota's overlay was one of the very first mods I did back in 2011. It's not perfect, but it's still better than the silver.

Hate to buy a cluster just for a black fuel gauge. Any ideas of the price?

Shoot, I am not mechanically inclined to take on a task like that of replacing gauge cluster.

Replacing the cluster is actually really easy. There's even a Youtube video on how to do it.

The dumba$$ that was supposed to come and do the back up camera at work has not shown up and I have 2 hours left of the shift. He just texted me that I did not give him the address when I copied and texted it to him again. Ugh.

How is the fill/paint job holding up on your front bumper?

Other than the water spots that won't go away no matter what I do, it's holding up very well

Unfortunately, the new price is upwards of $400 IIRC. Used ones are floating around but not many from later year models with the correct finish. Even at $100 it's way more than the overlay I purchased from Simota 7 years ago.

Let me know if you ever need any help. I've got tools and garage space to work. I help local Z owners with basic maintenance and mod installs whenever needed. Usually just charge a beer or two

Thanks for the offer jarblue. If that's your offer, I will pay for a case of brusky for your time. For now all I have pending is back up camera install and finding set of 19" OEM Ray rims w tires and tpms. I am not into the heavy moseying but more cosmetic looks.

Not much really today but over the past couple weeks....

CSC went at 79k mi ... So replaced that... in my garage... first time dropping a Z trans (Ive done my 240 back in the day a couple times) all-in-all taking my time and being organized took me about 12 hours total over the course of a week....

Wasnt working with much space... but got it done ! Saved myself a couple bucks...

http://i1257.photobucket.com/albums/...ZBq7V6kTzA.jpg

However.... ruined the shift knob while attempting to remove shifter... pulled the leather right off.... side by side of old and new purchased thankfully from a member here !!

Was getting some oxidation on my headlights, which annoys TF outta me like no other... I had the Meguiars kit laying around. Although I must say, using compound instead of the Meguairs PlastX works much better, they're not perfect but the 1000, and 3000 grit wet sanding makes a big diff with the heavily oxidized areas, sorry forgot to take befores. They dont have the same glossy shine tho... oh well

So needless to say I've been busy, but wouldnt trade it for the world !!

About to get in it to drive to work.

Dd'd on one of torontos hotter days. 93+f for you guys. Car hit over 120c/~250f and was reminded of the engine pulling timing during the launch. I know my tires were enjoying the temps cause the spirit levelled up.

Car has 2000 miles.

Changed tranny gear oil to Redline MT-85. Drained factory oil.

Both the drain and fill plug were extremely tight, probably closer to 50ft lbs than 25.

Transmission took almost 3 quarts. Maybe a couple ounces left over, if that.

I used a cheap transfer \ siphon pump and primed it first with a shot of WD-40 up the inlet spout. Worked just fine.

I dont notice much difference in shifting, but since its going to be a couple of years before the factory service interval, its cheap peace of mind to have Redline in there.

I'll do the diff. tommorow, Redline as well.
