Car has 2600km (1615 miles).

Changed oil w/ Mobil 1
Changed filter w/ K&N
Installed Zspeed aluminium splash guard.

Factory oil filter required wrench to remove, was ridiculously tight.
Factory oil was surprisingly dirty. Pretty dark brown (i know, shows detergents are working) but I was surprised.

Best part is oil temps...on a day like today, 86 degrees F and a 30 minute drive, my temps are usually at the 110C mark (230f). This doesn't bother me as it is fine, but today they only hit 94C to 100C (201F to 212F).

I wont make any claims as to WHY....could have been fresh oil, far better filter, the Zspeed splash tray, or maybe the engine decided to loosen up some.

Next week tranny oil & diff fluid when my Redline order arrives.

Pete

www.pure-gas.org can help you find stations in the US and Canada with no ethanol. Some of them go up to 100 octane.

In my experience some of the listings are out of date, so YMMV.

I've tried it on road trips. I set my annual Christmas pilgrimage so that I was nearly dry at a real gas station by the TN GA border and tanked up on 96 no ethanol. For regular highway driving I didn't notice a change in mileage or operating characteristics. Perhaps if I had driven like a madman I would have noticed a difference. The comparison is with Costco 93 which is what I usually run.

Washed and waxed.
Hung a highway to highway ramp with a big SUV doing the same. Think it was an escallade with some good tires. Amazing he was almost as fast. I'm either really slowing down or that guy was crazy and had some really good upgrades. He was on the inside lane which has a little more bank but a lot less visibility. Kept an eye in the rear view waiting for him to loose it in a truly spectacular fashion.

Dragged the undercarriage somewhere rear of the seats while entering a parking lot (that I have been to many times without issue) that had been recently re-done, despite slowing to a crawl. I was hot!

I was even hotter to discover that the other entrance/exit was blocked with a locked gate so I had to leave via the same entrance. I managed to get sideways enough to keep from scraping, but I was still not very happy

That sucks! If it's a steep enough hump getting your diagonally opposing tires to go over the hump at the same time will allow the car to rock over on it rather than strattle it and scrape.

Tonight i drove the car on a damp/wet road for the first time around an industrial area.
Yaw sensor disconnected so ya know what I was doing there!
Was so surprised how nicely the car handled once it was not travelling in a straight line!!
Was fun! Just had to tell someone :)

Thanks. That is what I did coming out (and meant to convey by saying I got sideways). I was kind of comitted entering, due to traffic, and had never had a problem there previously. They obviously had made the entrance steeper than in the past. And steeper than necessary imo.

I guess when you live in an area where the vast majority of vehicles are pickups and SUVs, sports cars are just going to take a beating on some road issues :shakes head:
