Driving my new old car

I came across the article while looking up info on classic cars: The Nissan 370Z Is a Classic-Car Bargain Masquerading as a Current Production Model

Some of you may have already come across this piece since it was written / posted in January.

We certainly have.

The only article I've seen on the web that accurately describes what's so great about the Z.

Ah! First time reading it, good article and nice to see someone appreciating the Z. I think cars will only continue to get heavier and with the new era of turbo everything, people might miss N/A 330hp. But I do love how cheap it is to add hp to a Factory made turbo car lol.

Good Honest Article

I have to agree with most everything said thats why I am not selling my 2009 Blue 370Z with 35K. Resale is nowhere near where it should be, and the cars are scarce. They only made 114 blue 6mt with the sport pkg. in 09. 2010-12 the total output was only 80 units and the last production year for the blue. The Sales Manager at my dealership has sent me an e-mail and called me about selling my car, claiming he had a buyer willing to pay top dollar, no thanks it wouldn't be enough and very difficult to find a replacement. I called on a local seller who just bought a loaded white 2017 Nismo, paid 48K and went down to Tenn. to pick it up. Now with only 273 miles on it he is asking 41K, why because he is in his 70s, over 6ft. tall and about 250lbs and it is too much trouble getting in and out of the car and he feels tight while seated, Oh Boy

LOL - very true, I thought the same thing. The person who wrote it is definitely a big Nissan Z fan and while they bring up valid arguments - I would argue that we all wish the Z had more power whether that means adding a turbo or have a better tuned vehicle that can compete with the Mustangs and Camaros of the world.

Overall, I love my car and I plan on keeping it for a long time; have even thought about trading mine in for a 'newer' one since my current ride has 85k miles on her. But then again, these cars can easily go 150k if not more - and the car is very reliable so why not keep it for another 70k miles (that would be minimum 4years for me) since I drive a lot. And I would agree, if you are in the market for a new Z, I would suggest check out a used one and invest in mods where you can get the ride exactly where you want it.

I hear you on how scarce the monterrey blue is, i bought mine a little over a year ago now and while the base versions pop up every so often the sport package trims pop up far less and sport+touring even less than that. I've not seen either of those pop up even once since i scooped up my Z within 500 miles of where i live.
