Question for 2010 z owners??

Jn1az4eh9am******

this is my vin minus the 6 last digits for my 2010 on order. The 9a is the code for model year. My question is for 2010 owners is your model year code 9a or 10?
Thanks

The 10th digit will be A on all 2010 cars!

The 10th digit of the VIN identifies the vehicle's model year:

A – 1980
B – 1981
C – 1982
D – 1983
E – 1984
F – 1985
G – 1986
H – 1987
J – 1988
K – 1989
L – 1990
M – 1991
N – 1992
P – 1993
R – 1994
S – 1995
T – 1996
V – 1997
W – 1998
X – 1999
Y – 2000
1 – 2001
2 – 2002
3 – 2003
4 – 2004
5 - 2005
6 - 2006
7 - 2007
8 - 2008
9 - 2009
A - 2010
B - 2011
C - 2012
D - 2013
E - 2014
F - 2015
G - 2016
H - 2017
J - 2018
K - 2019

so, if purchase a 2010 model, you better watch out, they may give you a 1980 model instead...just be careful when you're signing your contract to make sure you're not buying a 1980 Nissan 370Z.

this is good to know. i actually have a bit of a question as well, we were told that they (the dealership) wouldnt know when it was arriving until 30 days prior to our Z shipping out from the factory. is this true that the dealer wouldnt know? theyve been trying to push an 09 on us and i was thinking maybe this was just one of their sleazy tricks

I'm waiting on a Roadster for a customer that was ordered in October and I still don't have a VIN to give him. They really aren't sure. I know how many cars I'm getting for the next 3 months, and remember what I ordered, but the details are always vague until the vehicles are at the port and 30 days out. So they are telling the truth!

They could learn from BMW. Your car is assigned a VIN and you (dealer sales) can track it as soon as it is put into production. You can follow it during assembly and check status. You can then follow it from factory right until it ships from port. You can then see when it arrives at destination port, follow it thru transport to the dealership.

It's a great way to stay in front of your customer during his anxious phase.
