2018

Think there will be any changes for 2018 models?

I pulled the trigger on a 2017, but with my luck they will come out with something for 2018 that I will end up kicking myself for.

Doubt it. Close to market concept supposed to be in October or something like that so can't see them spending any time or money on the current one at this point.

Last spring when I bought mine I asked about when 2017 models were co in out. Of course the sales guy said not for a long time yet, so I grabbed the 16 off the lot. A few weeks later the 2017's were there and same price. Dammit. Oh well same car that's just a number - though it would affect resale some were I to sell it at some point.

probably but u did good getting the last yr nismo.

Z-Girl 12 01-28-2017 05:35 PM

Too late now anyway, 2nd thoughts serve no benefit. Enjoy that new Z!

Nixin 01-28-2017 07:46 PM

Enjoy your current Z. It is an awesome vehicle and a true drivers car. I am certain the the next model Z will be a drive by wire video game type vehicle.

It may be or not. But we are about 2 years away. It'll be okay since the 370z is probably one of the best bang for buck cars on the market

That is why I pulled the trigger on a 2017, as it was under 50K (cdn) and possibly the last year in production. Imagine what the import tariff is going to be after Trump. With Trump in office there is no guarantee that there will be a 2018 model available in the USA.

Plus I have a garage full of aftermarket 370Z parts

zeekle 01-29-2017 05:14 PM

My gut is telling me 2017 is the last year of the Z for a while.

At best there will be no changes for 2018

kenchan 01-30-2017 07:27 AM

right.. if ure getting a Z dis yr, be sure to get the nismo if u want it to hold value. i think it will be a classic in 20+yrs... just a hunch.

But if you drive it I don't think so... I've decided to keep mine til the engine pops or the floors rust out. Knowing 90st got over 250k miles is reassuring :happydance:

Agree

If you put off buying a car you like because of what you're afraid it may be replaced by, you'll end up walking everywhere.

Agreed... just get what you like and enjoy.

Production for 2018 will start in March, with few styling changes.
Front and rear bumper, tail lamps and headlights are changed- ( look similar to nismo).
Also there in brand new Red color (with dark final coat)
Mechanical and interior are same as 2017.

Source?

I'd love for them to drop a VR30DETT with dry sump lube in the Nismo Z34 in 2018. I'd be in there like swimwear.

I'm thinking of trading for the current Z34, then add a Z35. But I kinda wanna know what I'm working with, in the case of the Z35.

I don't know guys. You're talking about a car that's been out for nine model years about to be replaced by an all-new model, albeit probably a 2019 model.

I've decided to put off buying a 2017 Nismo to see what the Z35 is going to look like.

I realize that the OP was talking about the 2018 model, but I'm in a position to wait right now. I think if the Z35 looks to be a winner, discounts on the Z34 will be substantial.

My "guess" is the Z35 will debut as a 2019 model in the late-spring of 2018. We'll see.

ChaseZ 02-16-2017 02:39 PM

I can't see them showing the new car in October and then turn around and sell the existing car next year. Not that it is impossible of course but seems like they would be shooting themselves in the foot in terms of next years sales if they did that.

"Here's a new one coming out, but we are going to sell you the old one anyways"

Sure wouldn't be me opening my wallet if that were the case.

For what it's worth I'm inclined to agree with that.

Jimbo370 02-16-2017 03:51 PM

Do these new cars come with lane change alert and front collision warning now? Is Nissan keeping up? Are is it all bumper changes. What electronics are changing? :driving:

Don't worry about what electronics are changing. Develop good driving habist and you won't need things like lane change alert and front collision warning junk added to cars costing money, adding weight and more things to fail and cost a lot of money to fix.
People have been driving for 100 years without those things and managed just fine

Consistent with the other 8 model years. Predictable.
The car is paid off and once the new ones come out and I see an electrical motor paired with their new engines, I'm in.

Keep the info coming

OptionZero 02-17-2017 12:37 PM

the most interesting thing out of that is a change to the tail lights, which IIRC are identical across all years and models for the past . . . ever

SgtGoldy 02-17-2017 12:47 PM

I wouldn't worry till the z35 drops

280driver 03-21-2017 05:27 AM

Any update on the '18? I'm curious on how the changes look though I know it won't be a big difference.
