Grateful for this forum!

Before I bought my Z I was a die hard domestic guy. Hell we still keep a mustang in the family. Along with that I was pretty active on the SVT forums. My buddies always made fun saying majority of mustand drivers are idiots and fail to look beyond the size of their engines. Well years later I must admit they were correct. After continuing to post on the SVT sites I've found that it's impossible to find people capable of making intelligent arguements especially on politics. This forum has thus far been the exact opposite so thanks guys!

PS-One suggestion could we please have a road kill forum, pretty please!

You have a better chance of going back in time than getting a road kill forum, rofl.

I saw a dead dog or something on the side of the road close to work if that helps? no? /shrug

One can always hope, guess its the price of dealing with an intelligent forum.

PapoZalsa 12-04-2009 08:05 PM

Not a good idea, leave that for the Honda guys. If u want to race take it to the track.

Yeah, if we had a forum about it, we would basically be saying it's ok, and it would encourage people to do it so they could come post their story. No good.

I was always the opposite and the revival of American muscle had me thinking, try the Camaro, Challenger or Mustang...

I was reading your post and nodding along, till I read your suggestion and thought.. man he's just another mustang guy hahaha

NYBladeZ 12-05-2009 04:18 PM

what can I say some bad habits die hard, still I've kept my nose clean for awhile now. I won't lie though it's hard at times.

G37Sam 12-05-2009 04:26 PM

True that, it's insane over here I haven't met a single Mustang driver that didnt want to race lol. Not one! I remember a random stang'er from the street once came close to me just to ask me if I didn't mind driving to some road to have a few runs.. wtf lol

NYBladeZ 12-05-2009 04:39 PM

I live out in eastern Long Island, NY, plenty of spoiled rich brats driving fancy cars and empty streets. For those of you who may be familiar with Suffolk County, I also live about 5 minutes from the infamous Deer Park Avenue though I'm sure it's now owned by cops. All the same, I'll admit I had 1 run at 2am with an e92 M3 I couldn't say no but I try to drive sane and safe 99.9% of the time. Hell I have a camry as a daily driver just to keep the urge down.

frost 12-05-2009 04:42 PM

Maybe it's the traffic here, but getting challenged at lights is not an issue.

theDreamer 12-05-2009 04:57 PM

I have grown up knowing both sides, my father loves American muscle but also has owned two Z cars in his life (280 & 300). I took my time deciding for myself on what I want currently and made my choice.
I love American muscle for its fast straight line speeds and unique style, but I just feel the cars have gotten stuck in their own time. The rest of the world is starting to move forward and they are holding onto older ideas or concepts.

Matt and I had the same thing happen to us while I was at the shop getting my exhaust put on. I guess the guy saw Matts Nismo there and stopped by and asked us if we wanted run against a Cobra, so I said sure, then he says oh yea it has 900 hp. We were like what a dumb fu#k, asking for a stock Z to run a 900 hp Cobra. Dude was a tard. Then he gets on his phone and calls the guy with the Cobra and says he has a couple of guys interested in his car. It still makes me laugh when I think about it, the dude was a toal tard and looked like it too.

NYBladeZ 12-05-2009 05:14 PM

wow, I can understand volunteering my own car but volunteering someone else's car and having to call them up? I'll pass, still in a perfect environment I'd race the cobra in the mountains. No American car wants to race on anything but a 100% straight line, their gobbles of torque do little when the slightest bends are introduced, I would know I used to be the dumb mustang letting off in those situations.

These are stories that get me. People want to "run," but wait...they need to call their friend to get their friends car. Now I know yours was a bit different, but I have had people start talking sh1t and want to go, I finally say fine where is your X brand car (mustang, evo, sti, etc.)...."Oh, well it is not my car but let me call my friend who owns it."

I should have said yes and when I go to the place to race I show up on a bicycle and say lets go. Thats about how stupid the guy was thinking anyone would feel good about their 900hp car beating a 300 hp stock car.
